Qur'an and Hadith Studies with Dr. Kaukab Siddique

On Those Who Lie About Allah

"Who could do more wrong than someone who invents lies about Allah? Such people will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say. 'These are the ones who lied about their Lord.' Allah's rejection is the due of those who do such wrong, who hinder others from Allah's Path, trying to make it crooked and deny the life to come. They will not escape on earth, and there will be no one other than Allah to protect them. Their punishment will be doubled. They could not hear, and they did not see. It is they who will have lost their souls, and what they invented will have deserted them. There is no doubt they will be the ones to lose the most in the life to come. But those who believed, did good deeds, and humbled themselves before their Lord will be companions in Paradise and there they will stay. These two groups are like the blind and the deaf as compared with those who can see and hear well: can they be alike? How can you not take heed?"

Source: Qur'an, 11:18-24

Comment by Kaukab Siddique: Mischaracterization of Allah is a grievous sin. Allah is too Great for us to fully grasp. So we must be very careful not to attribute anything to Him which is not clearly stated in the Qur'an. Also, we must not say He has permitted that which He has not. This is one way in which Islam is different from other faiths, which continually change that which is viewed as permissible to suit the convenience of their constituents.

The verses convey a dire warning for those who mischaracterize Allah and His Word. But they also promise Jannah for those who believe, do good works, and exercise humility before their Creator. The two groups are decidedly not equal, and it should be clear to us, if we are Muslim, which one we desire to be in.

Muslims Should Revere Jesus (AS) and Abraham (AS)

Abraham was sent before Jesus (AS). It's very strange that Muslims love Jesus (AS), but they don't love Abraham (AS) equally. At Christmas time, many Muslims who want to be nice to Christians, give Christmas greetings, thereby validating the holiday, with all that implies. Jesus (AS) was given many miracles because Jewish people needed many miracles to accept the One God.

New Trend's Man of the Year: Imran Khan

New Trend selects Pakistan's imprisoned former President, Imran Khan, as man of the year. Despite his slow start while in office, failing to secure the release of political prisoner Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, and the many Pakistani innocents who endured "enforced disappearance," Imran went through trial by fire, and came out as a champion of human rights in the course of his ordeal with Pakistan's military establishment, which ultimately led to his political imprisonment. (On December 1, 2024, the UK-based Guardian newspaper reported that he had served over 500 days in prison.) Many prominent members of his PTI Party were similarly imprisoned, along with their family members. Despite severe mistreatment during a prolonged period of imprisonment, which some observers say amounts to torture, Imran refused to buckle, and encouraged his supporters to maintain their commitment to restoring justice in Pakistan. In the last several years, the former president increased his study of Islam, and, in the process, embraced Islamic teachings. Laudably, he established an institution for the treatment of cancer in Pakistan, something no other Pakistani president has done.

New Trend's Woman of the year: Bushra Bibi

Bushra Bibi, birth name Bushra Riaz Wattoo, is New Trend's woman of the year. Wife to former Pakistani president Imran Khan, she went from being a quiet, private person, a faith healer, to leading tens of thousands of men in protests seeking her husband's freedom. And she did it all while wearing niqab and speaking in Urdu. Some in Imran Khan's PTI party allege she was advising Imran Khan quietly from behind the scenes, including in his appointments of various ministers, much before his imprisonment, and this has led to some discord within the party. Whatever the case, Bibi has now endured political imprisonment, including solitary confinement, herself, and seems stronger than ever. When she speaks, it is with the quiet reassurance of a woman seeped in Islamic belief.

How (Most) U.S. Muslims are on the Wrong Side of the Palestine Issue

By Dr. Kaukab Siddique

Israel is supported by the U.S. Most established Muslims worship the U.S. They very seldom criticize U.S. policies in the Middle East, whether in khutbas in their mosques, at the ballot box, in their economic choices, in their city councils, or at their school board meetings. Their attitude is silence and business-as-usual in the face of genocide. They fail to realize that with their support of the U.S., they are supporting Israel, because Israel would likely not exist without U.S. support.

In the midst of the genocide in Palestine, Biden gave 8 billion dollars to Israel. Both Biden and Trump support Israel's mass murder of Palestinians. If Muslims are to be on the right side of the Palestine issue, they must realize who is providing the Zionists with all of their resources.

Unless the real source of attacks on Palestinians is opposed by the Muslims, nothing will change. Muslims don't even seem to know who is their enemy and who is their friend. Every day the Zionists bomb Palestinian and Lebanese hospitals, waterways, and mosques, while naïve U.S. Muslims seem to think that if they appeal to the U.S., it will stop the war. It is indeed strange that many Muslims think this is possible, despite U.S. rejection of cease fire proposals at the United Nations, gargantuan U.S. funding of Israel, and U.S. lawmakers lengthy track record of support for Israel and their overt statements of support for the Zionist entity.

The Condition of Women in America

A program on mainstream U.S. television uncovers and objectifies what happens to some women who live on properties they own. The program is called "Dateline" and relies on documentation in police reports.

When a well-to-do woman is murdered, her relatives can usually guess who did it. Police may even arrest a suspect. However, unless the victim's body is found, the case cannot be prosecuted. The killer works hard to conceal the body. Murderers sometimes take their girlfriend, who instigated the murder, to a faraway state.

In corporate America, women almost always report to men. Well-paying jobs are given to women who shave their legs, and don skirts and makeup to please men. Women across all sectors wear high-heeled shoes which torture their feet, tight clothing which cuts of their circulation, throwing money at expensive, revealing, and often-times hideous looking clothing designed by men.

In restaurants, men frequently pay the bill. Blue collar men (and others) frequently purchase sex in the red-light districts common in most major U.S. cities.

The U.S. divorce rate varies depending on whether it is a first, second, or third marriage. First marriages end in divorce 43% of the time; second marriages 60% of the time; and third marriages 73% of the time. The major reasons for divorce are infidelity, domestic violence, or substance abuse. (Forbes, November 20, 2024)

Given all of this. one wonders at the claim that American women are "liberated," and have rights, while hijab-wearing women in Muslim countries are oppressed.

Mass Grave of 100,000 Unearthed in Al-Qutayfah

December 17, 2024 - More evidence of Syrian dictators Bashar and Hafiz al-Assad's atrocities came to light in the discovery of a mass grave. The mass grave, which holds at least 100,000 bodies, was unearthed at Al-Qutayfah, 25 miles north of Damascus. (Al-Jazeera, December 17, 2024). But observers say the number in this mass grave site alone may be as high as 150,000.

At least five such mass graves have been identified by the Syrian Emergency Task Force.

Amnesty, Human Rights Watch Visit Syrian Prisons, Cite Evidence of Horrors

December 13, 2024 - The representatives of Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and Association of Detainees and the Missing in Sednaya Prison (ADMSP), visited Damascus December 10 - 20. They went to ten detention centers, seven mass graves, and to the military court. Amnesty's Aya Majzoub wrote on X: "These underground labyrinths are literally hell on earth. They were overcrowded, crawling with cockroaches and other insects, lacked ventilation. They still smell of blood and death." She posted photos of various torture devices, including one which broke the detainee's back.

Amnesty, in a report issued December 24, expressed concerns that records from the prisons and security apparatus would be lost, as looters, locals, and detainees were seen removing records. Other records were burned by prison guards and others as they fled. The human rights organization stressed the importance of preserving the records to ensure accountability and justice for the individuals involved in Assad's security apparatus.

United States

Vigil for Aysenur Eygi

December 16, 2024 - The Palestine Youth Movement held a candlelight vigil for Aysenur Ezgi Eygi in Lafayette Square, across from the White House. The vigil marked 100 days since an Israeli sniper killed the young activist, as she was protesting the Israeli occupation in Beita, Palestine, on September 6, 2024.

Vigil attendees were instructed to wear purple. Aysenur's family addressed the vigil, as did Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.

The official response to Aysenur's killing exemplifies the hypocrisy of the U.S. government on Israeli crimes. The young woman was a U.S. citizen, and by law, her death should have been investigated by the U.S. Departments of State and Justice. To date, no such investigation has been conducted. The lack of response, while not surprising, contradicts the official U.S. line, that no killings of U.S. citizens abroad will go uninvestigated/unpunished. Sadly, it seems that killing of pro-Palestinian U.S. citizens is perfectly acceptable to the U.S. government.

DC Synagogue cancels event Featuring Yoav Gallant

The Adas Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C. first scheduled and then canceled an appearance by war criminal Yoav Gallant. The reason for the cancellation was cited as security concerns. The event topic was "an exclusive conversation on Israel's multi-front security challenges since Oct. 7." (Jewish Insider, December 9, 2024)

Gallant was Israeli Defense Minister, until he was removed from the position by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in November 2024. Prior to that, he was an officer in the Israeli Occupation Force. He, along with Netanyahu, is under indictment by the ICC for war crimes.

Pro-Palestine Activists Call for Gallant's Arrest in New York and Washington, DC

December 5, 2024 - War criminal Yoav Gallant spoke at an event at Chabad Headquarters, in the Brooklyn, NY, neighborhood of Crown Heights. Chabad is an orthodox Hasidic Jewish sect. There, he praised the Israeli army without compunction.

Pro-Palestine activists, including those from Neturai Karta, gathered outside the exclusive Park Lane Hotel near New York's Central Park, where he was staying. They called for his arrest, and enforcement of the ICC warrant against him. They condemned Israel's actions in Gaza, and held Palestinian flags and signs. Gallant was protected by NYPD.

In Washington, DC, a Muslim woman activist confronted Gallant as he walked to offices on Capitol Hill with his detail. She shouted, "You are a murderer," "No one wants you here," "You are a puppet of the United States!"

A video of her action is here:

Interestingly, Gallant was later hosted by U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ).

One would hope that the war criminal would take the prospect of enforcement of the ICC warrant safely, and think twice about a repeat visit to the U.S.

New Trend Funnies

On December 28, Joe Biden said he had "done more for the Palestinian community than anybody."

Reader Letters

Disagree with Your Assessment of Erdogan and Turkey

Having lived in Turkey for six years, I can tell you that the article about Erdogan and Turkish

continued fighting with US funded PKK is written from a stance of little to no knowledge of the area or Turkish politics. As far as what is Turkey doing for Gaza there is also quite a deficit of knowledge in those articles.

Also, since I am not an investigative journalist, I could only give you anecdotal information or what I saw in person. It would be best to contact TRT, which is the English channel that covers Turkish news and has insider information about what Turkey is doing officially, and of course unofficially. People are doing a lot individually as well as in nonprofit organizations there only local. I know of Doctors from Turki female who have gone to Raza. I know of people who have asked on a regular basis do fundraisers and send food to Gaza. I know that there are women and men who are settled in Turkey from South Africa. Africa have taken trucks to the border of Gaza some have gotten in some have not but the above two sources that I gave you are the best objective sources to contact for information.

A.F.

New York Zionists Considered for Envoy

By Sis. 'Aisha

Jamaat al-Muslimeen New York City

"The Unbelievers are protectors, one of another: Unless ye do this, (protect each other), there would be tumult and oppression on earth, and great mischief." (Holy Qur'an 8:73)

In recent weeks, there have been reports of state governors, attorney generals, and President Biden pardoning questionable people: murderous police officers and a criminal son, among others. Yet, they all lacked the compassion to free any of the 100,000 political prisoners imprisoned on the flimsiest, most questionable pieces of evidence.

If these politicos demonstrated any compassion for all wrongfully convicted prisoners, it would have been a pleasant surprise rather than an expectation.

As President-elect Donald Trump's January 20th Inauguration nears, there are already efforts to reinvigorate Zionism in America after the blow it sustained by nationwide Pro-Palestinian protests.

Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz and former Real Housewives of New York reality cast member Lizzy Savetsky are being considered for a leadership role as Trump's Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism. Former Trump Deputy Special Envoy Ellie Cohanim and Lawfare Project founder Brooke Goldstein are also in consideration.

This envoy leadership role is an ambassador-type position requiring Senate approval.

This envoy is a brazen effort to squash any challenge to Zionism, whether it is speaking out against the Jewish occupation of Palestine or questioning the adherence to their version of the Holocaust.

Brooke Goldstein's Lawfare Project could easily be considered a terrorist organization. According to its website, Lawfare Project has used threats of litigation to thwart corporations from implementing BDS (Israel divestment) practices. They also "counseled" InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) about the benefits of canceling a Hamas event at one of its Qatar hotels, which it did.

Why did some wealthy Michigan Muslims support Trump again? He may have promised to get a ceasefire done in Palestine, but he also declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel in 2017! His recent actions prove he is a huge Zionist supporter.
