nonviolent, as of March 2019, Israeli forces have killed 195
Palestinians (including 41 children, 13 of whom attended
UNRWA schools) and injured nearly 29,000 people (including
over 7,000 shot with live ammunition).
UNRWA's primary health clinics are treating some of the most
seriously wounded refugees as the hospitals in Gaza remain
overstretched.
You can provide help to refugees who've been injured while

the inhumane conditions under which they are forced to

Aafia Siddiqui's Shameful Imprisonment Continues
It is with great sorrow that New Trend notices that Aafia
Siddiqui has not been released even after 10 years, in spite
of protests and rallies in Pakistan, the United States and
other concerned countries.
Dr Fowzia Siddiqui has made Pakistani's aware of the
injustice of this case. There is no credible evidence for
her remaining in prison.
Within the U.S.A., Br. Mauri Saalakhan has led a systematic
campaign to inform U.S. muslims of this grave injustice. He
got a lot of support from Nadrat Siddique, Imam Ali Siddiqi,
Sis. Ayesha and Ali Randall, and Br. Kaukab Siddique;
however, most U.S. Muslims have not chosen to follow suit.
We can only hope and pray that this injustice, which is a
blot on the human rights status of America, will be removed
soon.

MODERN PRIVATE SCHOOLS AND INHERITANCE

The transfer of ownership of a Arabic school after the
demise of its original founder as a result of regulations of
inheritance is a major issue that mostly results into
distortion of the original philosophy (s).
Many of saintly conceived intentions might have been
derailed in the name of right of inheritance to ownership of
Arabic schools that could have been originally targeted to
solving some particular problems, rather than money making
ventures.
For example, in 1952 , Sheik Adam Abdullah Al-Ilory
introduced unprecedented modernity and standardization into
the study of Arabic and Islamic learning in the Western
Nigeria as against the old methodology where pupils were
merely handed over to Muallim clerics by their parents for
tutoring without any agreement on what to teach them and for
how long.
To succeed in doing this, however, he realized that he
needed to equip himself educationally. Therefore, he moved
from scholar to scholar , as a student, searching for any
relevant knowledge that could assist in fulfilling his
dream.
But today, most unfortunately, his legacy is being distorted
rather than getting it improved upon. Markaz is being led by
a son of his who believes in the right of inheritance to
position of leadership rather than knowledge.
Habib Adam Al-Ilory is the very vocal and bold son of late
Sheik Adam,who holds the belief that he should be accorded
respect and honor accrued to his late father, even though
his propositions could be so repugnant.
This fellow has uttered many fallacies and unprintable
imputations against all scholarly works that tend to uphold
the ways of the prophet (peace upon him), even from the
works of his late father: Sheik Adam held that the major
sources of Islamic are Quran and Hadith; Habib asks a
rhetorical question of " which word do you believe save
Qur'an"?
Other Arabic Schools that have been inherited are
Az-Zumuratul-Adabiyyah in Ilorin, Al- Ma'hadul- Arabiyah in
Ibadan, and most recently Darud'Dawah, also in Lagos.

To be a Muslim, acceptance of Hadith is Essential.

Under western influences, a growing number of Muslims in
America do not want to accept Hadith. Rejection of hadith
gives them the "freedom" to interpret the Qur'an according
to their best understanding. They want to deal with the
Qur'an as the Christians deal with the Bible.
Thus westernized Muslims, supported by deviant sects, try to
fit Islam into the western paradigm, even to the extent of
claiming that Jihad is not armed struggle and lgbtq are
acceptable because, as the Christians say, God loves
all.
One of the major points they make is that Bukhari and Muslim
compiled their books about 200 years after the Prophet,
pbuh. In this connection I answered a question some time
back which I think will help to explain this issue from the
Islamic viewpoint.
A question from Sis. N. in Detroit [From a long letter]:
I am originally from Iran, moving to real Islam, Qur'an and
Hadith. I read a good book by Fazlur Rahman (Chicago
University) but it confused me on some points. He writes,
Hadith was written in third century after the Prophet. New
Trend's web site says follow Qur'an and Hadith. I am
confused please explain why Hadith was not written in time
of the Prophet ?
ANSWER by Kaukab Siddique:
Dr. Fazlur Rahman was influenced by Christian missionaries
and Jewish orientalists. He tried to confuse the Muslims of
Pakistan, with the support of the military government, but
was defeated and fled to America where he was immediately
given a senior position at Chicago University to teach
Islam.
Both the Qur'an and the Hadith were written down in the time
of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Qur'an is the word of
Allah revealed to Muhammad (peace be on him). The Hadith is
the commentary, explanation, implementation of the Qur'an by
Muhammad (pbuh). Both are interlinked and essential to each
other. No authentic Islamic scholar has ever tried to say
that Hadith is not necessary or was written later.
The people who wrote down the Qur'an, on bits and pieces of
materials, were the SAHABA or companions of the Prophet
(pbuh). Paper and printing were not available at that time.
So, people could not go around with printed and bound copies
of the Qur'an. Even the collation and putting together of
the Qur'an was done by the SAHABA so that the Qur'an became
a BOOK between two covers after the Prophet (pbuh) passed
away. This great work was done under the supervision of Abu
Bakr, Umar, Osman and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them
all) who were the first four rightly guided Caliphs of
Islam.
The same SAHABA also wrote and transmitted the Hadith and
made sure that nothing was falsely attributed to the Prophet
(pbuh).
The QUR'AN was also MEMORIZED by the Sahaba. In fact few of
them had it in writing but many of them knew it from memory.
The cross checking of memory with writing was carried out to
make sure that the Qur'an as revealed to the Prophet, pbuh,
was transmitted to future generations.
The HADITH was also memorized by the SAHABA and transmitted
to future generations. Any scholar of Hadith had to MEMORIZE
the HADITH from the written collections of the Sahaba and
then RECITE IT FROM MEMORY to his/her teacher. Thus an
accurate record of the Prophet's, pbuh, life and teachings
was enshrined in the scholarship of the Muslim world.
In the era after the SAHABA various kinds of sects arose
which tried to disseminate their own versions of the Qur'an.
Some of them claimed that Hazrat Ali (r.a.) had received
suras of the Qur'an from the Prophet, pbuh, which no one
else had. The scholars of the line of Ali (r.a.) and Fatima
(r.a.), such as Imam Jafar and Imam Baqir, were able to
repudiate these claims because they had the Qur'an both by
memory and in writing.
Similarly attempts were made to invent "Hadith." This was a
very serious effort by Kings and emperors who wanted
religion to justify their tyranny and to creatre a "tame
Islam." The problem was aggravated by the fact that various
SAHABA had migrated to various cities, and after they passed
away, various people could claim that they had heard Hadith
from them.
It was in that context that great scholars like Imam Bukhari
stepped forward to ENSURE that fabrications did not enter
the corpus of Hadith. I think that these scholars were a bit
too strict and as a result they sometimes designated as
"weak" even those Hadith which were authentic but which
would not pass the test of extremely severe scrutiny.
Imam Bukhari and other imams are the ones Dr. Fazlur Rahman
was abusing when he claimed that Hadith was written in the
third century after the Prophet. Fazlur Rahman really was
quite ignorant of Hadith and hence recklessly fell into the
trap set for him by Christian missionaries and Jewish
orientalists.
WAS HADITH WRITTEN in the TIME OF THE PROPHET (pbuh)? Yes,
the evidence is overwhelming. Here is one sample from a
prominent companion of the Prophet, pbuh, Abdullah ibn Umru
ibn al-Aas. It is authenticated by two distinct and separate
compilers of Hadith, Abu Dawud in his Sunan (chapter kitabut
al-ilm) and Darimi in his Musnad (chapter on Rukhs fi
kitabut al-ilm):
"Whatever I heard from the messenger of Allah, peace be on
him, I would write it down so as to be able to memorize it.
Then some in the Quraish (tribe) said to me: You write down
whatever you hear though the messenger of Allah is a human
being and speaks both in anger and in joy. On hearing that I
stopped writing and then I mentioned this to the messenger
of Allah. He pointed with his finger to his mouth and said:
Write on! By Him in whose Hand is my being, no word comes
out of this mouth but the Truth."
Abdullah ibn Umru (r.a.) collected the Hadith he had written
in the presence of the Prophet (pbuh) in a book titled
Al-Sadiqa. Abdullah said: "There are two things I love in
life: Al-Sadiqa and al-Wahat." He explained: "Al-Sadiqa is
that manuscript which I heard and wrote from the messenger
of Allah and Wahat is that land which (my father) Umru ibn
al-Aas donated to the cause of Allah and which I take care
of." [Darimi's Sunan.]
The compendium Tahzeeb al-Tahzeeb tells us that on the death
of Abdullah, r.a, the manuscript of Al-Sadiqa was secured by
his grandson Shuaib bin Muhammad and then transmitted to the
next generation by his son also named Umru. THE HADITH
WRITTEN BY Abdullah, r.a., DIRECTLY FROM THE PROPHET, pbuh,
AND AT HIS COMMAND, are to be found in the collections of
Hadith which we have under this chain of narration:
"From Umru son of Shuaib from his father from his
grandfather." As Hadith is a very strict discipline, some
classical scholars wanted to classify the collection as
Mursal because they thought the grandson should have SAT
DOWN IN FRONT OF THE GRANDFATHER AND RECITED THE WHOLE
COLLECTION TO HIM FROM MEMORY! However, some of the greatest
scholars of Hadith, like Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, accept the
authenticity of Al-Sadiqa.
What makes Al-Sadiqa's authenticity irrefutable is that it
was also transmitted by OTHER STUDENTS of Abdullah (r.a.)
who had nothing to do with his grandson.
So, don't let anyone tell you that Hadith was not written in
the time of the Prophet, pbuh.
FINALLY, spend a couple of months in trying to understand
this verse of the Qur'an. It will help you to understand why
the Hadith is essential and ALWAYS goes with the Qur'an:
"The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own
selves, and his wives are their mothers. [33:6]

LAHORE, 29; Acting Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Liaqat
Baloch, has said that
the party which came to power on the slogan of change has
been fully exposed and it is making a mockery of all its
promises. He was speaking at the oath taking ceremony of 46
new Arkan (members of the JI at Gujrat.
Liaqat Baloch said that having taken the protégé of the past
civil and military rulers on his side, Prime Minister Imran
Khan was claiming to change the destiny of the country and
the nation. He said that as against PTI's election promises,
there had been a rapid increase in poverty, price hike and
unemployment during the last eight months of the PTI rule.
As result, the PTI was losing its popularity.
The JI acting chief said the PTI leaders had failed to
recover anything from the plunderers, but were adding to the
miseries of the masses due to price spiral. Those talking of
the Madina state were promoting obscenity and vulgarity in
the society.
On the economic front, he said, the party that had been
talking of austerity and self sufficiency had obtained
record amount of loans.
He said the parliament was a non-entity and all important
decisions were being taken outside the parliament.
Liaqat Baloch pointed out that when the PTI took over, all
political parties were against it but the JI had welcomed it
and promised full cooperation in the good works of the
government because the JI wanted the government to fulfill
its promise of providing relief to the people. But,
unfortunately, the PTI had miserably failed in this.
While distributing wheel chairs for the disabled by the
Al-Khidmat Foundation, Liaqat Baloch said that basically it
was the government responsibility to provide facilities to
the disabled and the opposed, but the government had failed
in this also. He said that the JI was also giving due
attention to the issue with the support of the
philanthropists.

LAHORE, Mar. 29; Deputy chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Hafiz
Muhammad Idrees, has said that it was unfortunate that while
the Prime Ministers of New Zealand and Canada had raised
their voice against the oppression on the Muslims, the
rulers of the Muslim countries were asleep over the
bloodshed of the Muslims going on in different parts of the
world.
Addressing a big Friday congregation at the Mansoora mosque,
he said that
the blood of the Muslims was being spilled in Kashmir and
Palestine but the Muslim rulers were least bothered.
Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that the PTI government was
completing the colonial powers agenda left over by the past
governments. The government was revolting against Allah's
Deen. It was giving awards to the artists and dancers while
Ulema and the religious scholars were being dubbed as
terrorists.
The JI deputy chief said the younger generation of the
country had been handed over to the Satanic civilization.
There were attempts to destroy the Muslim family system
under the cover of women emancipation and women rights. He
said that the status and the rights which Islam gave to the
women folk were unparalleled.
He said that the Islamic provision of the constitution
were of no use unless these were implemented.
He exhorted the people to support the JI and the Ulema in
order to get rid of the parties which were befooling the
masses only to gain votes.

Syria
The country is ablaze again from North to South
On March 31, the US dropped a bunker-buster bomb on the
suspected hiding places of IS fighters in the Buhuz
countryside.
The U.S. airforce has also renewed its airstrikes after it
became clear that IS fighters still remain in the farms
outside the city, and are fighting back at night. Fifty IS
fighters are thought to have been killed in the latest
bombing. However, most fighters escaped to Eastern Homes
province and are also carrying out hit and run raids on both
Assad forces and SDF forces.
In Dera province, graffiti has appeared in 6 cities, calling
for the downfall of Assad. For the first time in recent
days, citizens open fire on Assad's troops. Conflict is
also emerging in Dera between regime forces supporting Assad
and those supporting Russia.
In Aleppo City, fire fights are going on between groups
supporting Iran and those supporting Russia.
Assad's Iranian forces have attempted to advance into
Northern Hama province, but were beaten back. Assad's forces
are also shelling Muslim towns in the four Northern
Provinces under Islamic jihad control.
Iran has now revealed that it sent 15,000 Afghan Shias to
fight for Assad. Over the years they've incurred heavy
losses at the hands of the mujahiden including more than
2,000 killed. In the battle for Khan Toman, just outside
Aleppo, 80 of the Shia troops were killed in one day in a
battle with the Islamic fighters. The town still remains in
Islamic hands despite months of fighting.

The lost immunity
An invincible immunity is crucial for survival in an
environment embedded with millions of lethal bugs and
viruses. Hence, the Almighty Allah -the Most Merciful, has
blessed every man and woman with an inbuilt system of
immunity. An effective defence barrier with highly potential
cellular and biochemical weapons exist in every part of the
body against any invading toxic agents. Similar defensive
immunity is also crucial for healthy conceptual or
ideological survival of a believer. Otherwise, his mind gets
quickly occupied by corrosive beliefs and ideas. Such ideas
quickly kills iman. This is why, colonisation of the Muslim
mind always receives the highest priority in enemies'
ideological warfare against Islam and the Muslims. Hence the
enemy bombing campaign or occupation is always accompanied
by powerful propaganda war. The European colonialists always
launch such invasive project from day one of their
occupation of the Muslim lands. In fact, Islam now stands
defeated in every Muslim country not for any sustained
military or political occupation; but for deep colonisation
of the Muslim minds. Because of such intellectual occupation
by evil ideas, Islam doesn't stand victorious even in
Muslims' conceptual premise, let alone overwhelm in other
arenas.
Proper nutrition and vaccination help immensely to enhance
the body's immunity. A man with enhanced immunity can walk
safely even amidst the infected people with killer bugs and
viruses. The HIV (Human Immune Deficiency Virus) does the
opposite. It causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency
Syndrome) and brings death by dismantling the body's
protective immune barrier. As a result, millions of
opportunistic bugs that live normally and silently on the
body surface quickly get access deep inside the body and
speed up the dying process. Similar immunity lapse has
developed in the ideological cum conceptual premise of the
Muslims. As a consequence, there exists little or no barrier
in most of the Muslim minds against the wicked ideologies
like racism, tribalism, nationalism, secularism, capitalism,
socialism, fascism and many other toxic ideas. Hence,
instead of Islam, these illicit ideologies get practised in
most of the Muslim countries. So, the Muslim countries make
little or no difference from a non-Muslim country in
practising kufr, shirk, hypocrisy and betrayal against the
commands of Allah Sub'hana wa Ta'la.
Against Islam, the imperialists now gives enormous
importance to ideological warfare. They call it Cold War.
They have seen its efficacy against the Soviet socialist
bloc. Islam is the next target. The western imperialists
deployed only its ideological weaponry to dismantle the
United Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR); and needed not to
fire a single bullet to dissolve this nuclear World Power.
But against the Muslims, the imperialists' war is
two-pronged; they are fighting both militarily and
ideologically. It is indeed the intensification of the same
old war that started about thousand years ago in the name of
Crusade. The European colonialists never stopped by mere
military occupation of the Muslim lands; rather continued
with colonisation of the Muslim mind, too. Now, such project
has received further re-enforcement through an aggressive
western media all over the world. The ongoing
socio-political engineering is also an important part of it.
The secularist governments of the Muslim countries also work
as the close partners of such project.
AIDS dismantles the bodily immunity; therefore brings
physical death. But, the ideological invasion of the enemies
destroys the intellectual cum conceptual immunity; hence
cause spiritual death. Since, Qur'anic knowledge is the
lifeline of iman; the imperialists and their native
mercenaries could inflict a lethal blow to iman by
restricting the Qur'anic education and destroying the
Islamic institutions in the occupied Muslim lands. In fact,
it has always been the key strategy of all anti-Islamic
forces in the Muslim lands. Moreover, it has never been a
hidden strategy of the enemy. Mr. William Gladstone -the
nineteenth century British Prime Minister and a prominent
promoter of colonialism and imperialism, very emphatically
told in the Parliament that unless the Muslims are taken
away from the Qur'an, they can't be brought under the
British rule. He didn't make any mistake to realise that the
holy Qur'an makes the Muslims totally incompatible with the
kuffars' ideologies and rule. Therefore, the colonialists'
war of occupation was not aimed at cleansing the Muslim
lands of the Muslims; but to cleanse their minds of the
Qur'anic teachings. And, the project still continues.
The ideological corruption & the misguidance
A man's vision, mission, objective, deeds, attitude,
behaviour, culture, politics and warfare are indeed the
exact expression of his conceptual model. It is equally true
for a Muslim, too. His or her right guidance or misguidance
entirely depends on it. The immense importance of such a
conceptual model is revealed in the following Qur'anic
verse: "Tell (O Muhammad), every one acts according to his
(conceptual) model (shakela) and your Lord best knows who is
rightly guided."-(Sura Isra, verse 84). For a Muslim, his
conceptual model is fully based on the teaching of the holy
Qur'an. If such internal model of his belief pattern gets
dismantled, no more one can survive as a true Muslim; rather
becomes a kafir or munafiq. The importance of occupying the
conceptual premise is not unknown to the enemies. Hence,
they occupy not only the Muslim lands; but also the Muslim
minds. And, cleansing the Muslim mind of the Qur'anic
teaching is indeed their topmost agenda. Therefore, the
Muslims' fate for survival as a true Muslim is not decided
on the prayer mats, rather by their ability to defend the
Islamic state and their conceptual territory. But the
Muslims have terribly failed on both. So, in Islam, jihad is
so crucial; spending few minutes in jihad is more valuable
than whatever exist on earth.
What the colonialists did in the past, now the US-led
imperialist coalition is doing the same all over the Muslim
World. Not only bombs, drones and missiles are added to
their arsenal; billions of dollar are also invested to
enhance Muslims' deviation from the Qur'anic road map. The
teaching curriculum of the Muslim countries are strictly
under their rudder. They have enforced tight restriction on
teaching and learning of the holy Qur'an not only in
schools, madrasahs and mosques but also in all media, public
discourses and seminars.
Absence of sharia, hudud, shura, jihad, khilafa and other
Islamic basics in the Muslims' life clearly demonstrates how
badly they have lost the ideological war. It shows total
ideological collapse. In fact, the imperialists' coercive
cum manipulative strategy has been very successful to cause
a deep ideological cleansing of the Muslim mind. During the
long colonial era, the enemies used and abused the whole
education system as a massive tool to take the Muslims away
from the holy Qur'an. They even established religious
madrasahs to corrupt the Muslims intellectually. They could
also raise even a huge army of ulama, mullah and Muslim
intellectuals to serve their cause. According to Hanafi
school of thought, on day one of the enemy occupation, jihad
become obligatory on the Muslims of the occupied land. But,
because of ideological cleansing, the Muslims show little
commitment or motivation for such jihad.
The ideological cleansing has other sinister consequences.
It brings not only deviation from the right path -siratul
mustaqeem; but also generates deep distaste to know the
right path -as shown in the holy Qur'an. Instead of seeking
knowledge on the holy Qur'an, mere recitation gets the
priority. They even think that understanding of the holy
Qur'an is the exclusive domain of the ulama. To make it
worse, the subservient governments of the Muslim countries
work as partners of such project.
Al-Qur'an is the only book of true Divine guidance.
Therefore, without understanding it, how one can get the
Divine guidance? In fact, it is the ugliest criminal neglect
of the greatest gift of Allah Sub'hana wa Ta'la. Such a
neglect of the holy Qur'an can only leave a man with no
choice but to seek guidance from kufr -like the western
ideas, laws, politics, and economics. Even the political
maps of the Muslim countries are made by the enemies. Such a
deviated state of the Muslims can only please Shaitan.
Seeking Qur'anic knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim man
and woman; not only on the imams, ulama, and sheikhs.
Ignorance makes it impossible for any human to stay in the
true path; hence it is a major sin. It is revealed: "Among
all His servants, only those who are filled with the
knowledge (of Qur'an) are the ones who truly fear Allah."
-(Sura Fatir, verse 28). Hence, for becoming an
Allah-fearing Muslim, one must be a man of Qur'anic
knowledge. This is why, every companion of the prophet
(peace be upon him) was a great a'lim. Moreover, how a
seeker of the true path can ignore or stay ignorant of the
only treasure of true guidance on earth? Such guidance can't
be acquired by mere rote recitation or memorisation; it
needs proper understanding. This is why, in the holy Qur'an,
Allah Sub'hana wa Ta'la has repeatedly asked for tafah'hum
(understanding), tawaq'qul (contemplation), tadab'bur
(pondering) on the Qur'anic revelation.

Abu Hurairah [Allah be pleased with him] who quotes ...
PROPHET ~(Sal-Allahu-Allaihi-Wasallam) as saying...
"A Charity is due for every joint in each person on everyday
that the sun comes up"! to act justly between two people is
a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it
or hoisting up his belongings onto it is a charity; a good
word is a charity; and removing a harmful thing from the
road is a charity."

Hadith # 2 on 'Sadaqah'...
Sayyiduna Abu Dhar (RadhiAllaho anho) narrates...
PROPHET ~ (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said...
Each morning for every person a Sadaqah is due for each
joint Every utterance of 'Subhan Allah' (Glory be to Allah
Who is above all faults) is an act of Sadaqah. Every
utterance of 'Alhamdulillah ' (Praise be to Allah)
is an act of Sadaqah. Every utterance of 'La ilaha
Illallah'. (None is worthy of worship but Allah) is an act
of Sadaqah. Every utterance of 'Allahu
Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest) is an act of Sadaqah.
Enjoining Good...
is an act of 'Sadaqah' Forbidding from Evil... is an act of
'Sadaqah' 'Amar Bil Maroof...Nahi Anil Munkar' (Enjoining
the right...Forbidding the wrong)
Commentary...
"Charity is due from every joint bone" means that when a
person gets up in the morning, it is obligatory for him to
thank Allah for having every joint of his intact. Therefore,
one must praise and glorify Allah. Since a single invocation
of the words mentioned in this Hadith is equivalent to one
Sadaqah, one must say these words for 360 times ! a number
which equals the number of joints in man's body. Moreover,
to enjoin someone to do what is good and dissuade somebody
from vice constitutes Sadaqah. However, if one performs two
Rak'ah of Duha prayer, it will serve for Sadaqah for all the
joints of the body.
We also learn from this Hadith that Sadaqah is not
restricted to spending money alone but also has a vast
meaning and covers all forms of virtues mentioned here.
