HADITH OF THE WEEK

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"Acquiring knowledge in (the) company (of others) for an hour in the night is better than spending the whole night in prayer."

Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 91

Saudi Grand Mufti Does not know Hadith: Attacks IS [Islamic State] to Please the Crusaders.
by Kaukab Siddique, PhD

It's such a shame that the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia tried to use the hajj to attack the Islamic State [IS] in particular and all those whom America sees as enemies. The Mufti call them "khawarij" and enemies of humanity. The Hajj should not be used to support the policies of the pro-American government in Riyadh. It is a mortal sin to use the sacred pilgrimage as a tool for political gain.

This is how it was reported by the media around the world including American media.

"MOUNT ARAFAT: In his annual Haj sermon on Friday, Saudi Arabia's top religious figure termed the extremist Islamic State militants as Khawarijites and the enemies of humanity.

Addressing millions of Muslims from around the world gathered in Makkah for the Haj, the Grand Mufti of the Ka'aba Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh said that conspiracies were being hatched against Muslims, and that some movements in the Muslim world were enemies of humanity. "

For the time being I will ignore the Mufti's silence on the real enemies of humanity:
  1. The Israeli genocide in Gaza.

  2. US Imperialism in its occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.

  3. The Indian occupation of Kashmir.

  4. The Russian occupation of Chechnia and many others.

  5. The exploiters of Africa's defenseless people.

Let us look at the Mufti's use of the term "khawarij". In fact the Mufti, the dictators and their paid "scholars" and the Shias all use the term "khwarij" for the mujahideen groups which are fighting Islamic movements. They all claim that the Prophet, pbuh, condemned people like IS, al-Qaida, Taliban, Hamas, al-Shabab, Boko Haram and just about all Islamic armed groups as khwarij.

Most Muslims do not read the text of the hadith which is used to claim that the mujahideen are "khawarij" condemned by the Prophet, pbuh. Here is the hadith:

"Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "There will come a people from the east who recite the Quran but it does not go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow pierces its target and they will not return to it just as the arrow does not return to the bow." It was said, "What will be their sign?" The Prophet said, "Their sign is shaving." Or he said, "It is shearing."

Source: Sahih Bukhari 7123 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Bukhari

Notice that the hadith DOES NOT contain the word "khwarij," In fact the Prophet, pbuh, NEVER used this word.. What the enemies of the fighting groups do is to add the word "khwarij" in brackets after the word "throats."

Historically, the term "khwarij" was used for the followers of Ali, r.a., after they left him when he accepted arbitration with Muawiyya, r.a.during the battle of Siffin. These were the hard core shias of Ali, r.a., who were very upset that Ali, r.a., was going into a cease fire with Muawiyya, r.a. It was a tragic situation in which Ali, r.a., ended up fighting his own Shias at the battle of Nahrwan in which he killed most of them. He was so weakened by this internal disaster that he could no long fight Muawiyya, r.a., A brother of one of those killed at Nahrwan assassinated Ali, r.a.. After that tragedy, Ali's elder son Hasan, r.a., made peace with Muawiyya, r.a., and gave his allegiance to Muawiyya, r.a.

Let's look again at the hadith prophesy about those who seem to be reverent Muslims but Islam does not go below their throats. It says that their sign is that they will shave. If we try to apply this sign to the "Muslim" leaders of today, it fits the rulers allied to the crusaders such as General Sissi of Egypt, Bashar Assad of Syria, King Abdullah of Jordan. Agha Khan, the Ismaili leader, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan. Then take "shearing," it would apply to the Saudi ruler and his huge family of exploiters of Islam. Look at those tiny beards they have, not shaven but sheared: perfect symbols of hypocrisy.

Mujahideen live and die for Allah. They have human weaknesses but they are not by any stretch of the imagination "khawarij."

Shi'ism: Rise, Decline and Deception
by Kaukab Siddique, PhD

With revolution against the Shah of Iran and the downfall of American power in Iran, Imam Khomeini led a movement which changed the history of the region. When Imam Khomeini declared that Shia and Sunni are not important, Islam is important, the Muslim world experienced a wave of optimism and hope. I personally met Imam Khomeini and interviewed and photographed him. Other than Maulana Maudoodi before him and Dr. Omar Abdel Rahman after him, I have not see or heard of any Islamic leader comparable to him.

When Saddam Hussain's forces, funded and egged on by the Arab kingdoms and backed by the US, invaded Iran, I was with Iran and personally visited the battle frontline with Iraq to support the cause of Iran. My writings defending Iran against western propaganda can be seen in my book Khomeini's Iran.

Another great achievement of the Imam was the denunciation of Salman Rushdie's abusive attack on Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, and Ayesha, r.a. I was so thrilled by this challenge to the western enemies of the Prophet, pbuh, that I thought of the historical event of Ali, r.a., honoring Ayesha, r.a.

When my hero passed away, I visited Tehran to mourn at his grave before the mausoleum was built. But the situation within Iran was deteriorating. The first sign was that Ayatollah Montazeri who had been designated as Imam Khomeini's successor came under insidious propaganda attacks from his right wing enemies. Finally, he was removed from leadership. The new leadership which emerged knew little about the world and dipped into ancient sectarian literature to come up with a narrative of Islamic history which over time alienated the Muslim world from Iran.

Imam Khomeini had warned Iranians against any dealings with America, but even before he passed away, Rafsanjani had started the process. Iran supported the invasion of Afghanistan by the US and then the assault on Iraq. A real low was Iran's seizure of Iraqi jet fighters which took refuge in Iran.

It was shameful that Iran, Khomeini's Iran, joined the US/UN sanctions on Iraq which slowly led to the death of a million Iraqi civilians including 500,000 and more children [UN statistics]. These slow deaths in Iraq may have created the intense hate, along with the US encirclement of Arabia, and the torture of Islamic people in Egypt, which led to the 9.11 attacks on high value targets in USA.

These tragic events switched my mind and soul from Iran to Iraq. I deeply admired the resistance of President Saddam Hussain and his magnificent stance, Qur'an in hand, during his show trial and his shameful execution by the Shi'ites [on Eid day!].

Considerable segments of the Shi'ite groups in Iraq welcomed the US armadas. The Americans devastated Iraq but could not defeat the resistance which increasingly came from al-Qaida in Iraq, led by al-Zarqawi [killed by the Americans] and then by al-Baghdadi [now the leader of the Islamis State, IS]. The Shi'its formed a government under American auspices. Iran gave seed money of ONE BILLION DOLLARS to the US installed regime.

Final Shi'ite Degeneration and then Deception: Syria's Bloodbath and the"re-Invasion" of Iraq.
The people of Syria rose up against the Syrian tyrant Bashar al-Assad. It was an entirely peaceful movement but Bashar would have none of it. He slaughtered the people, to the extent of landing paratroopers outside mosques. The peaceful movement spread but Bashar went after it, city by city, slaughtering the people. He wanted to re-do all over Syria what his notorious father Hafez had done in Hama in 1982. But the people of Syria stood firm and steadily segments of Bashar Assad's troops started defecting and defending the population. However, the defectors, who came to be known as the FSA, were not strong enough to push back Bashar's heavily armed forces.

As the slaughter of the population continued, mujahideen from Arab countries started entering Syria to defend the people. Numerous Islamic groups were formed, and they drew thousands of volunteers from the Syrian population. They developed their own leadership and appealed to Muslim populations outside Syria for help. Thus al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham, and other groups took shape. ISIS was a later development which saw the fighting groups as weak on ideology and not 100% wedded to the implementation of Sharia.

The Shi'ite response was that Iran started an air bridge of weapons, ammunition and supplies to the Assad regime, with the cooperation of the Shi'ite Maliki regime in Baghdad.

In spite of all the help from Iran, and then a huge refill of all of Bashar's losses from Russia, the mujahideen scored spectacular victories, turning missiles captured from two of Assad's numerous air bases against his forces.

Treachery of Hizbullah and Iraqi Shias.

When Assad was on his last legs and the suburbs of Damascus had fallen to the mujahideen, Hizbullah crossed the border from Lebanon and joined the battle to save Assad. Thousands of highly trained Hizbullah fighters became the vanguard of Assad's forces. The mujahideen fought back with heroic tenacity but were now not only heavily outnumbered but outgunned. Hence Assad's escape route and supply route through the Qalamoun mountains was re-opened and the Alawites re-took Homs and Hama, though fighting continues in their environs.

Deception:

Hizbullah's propaganda has been, in collusion with Iran, that Assad is the linchpin of "resistance" to Israel. Thus by saving Assad "we" are saving Palestine. However Israel invaded Gaza twice without any armed response from Hizbullah, not even a minor incident. The border of Lebanon is the only one into Israel not controlled by pro-Israel forces as is the case with Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Hizbullah was busy fighting the mujahideen in Syria during the recent genocidal onslaught on Gaza.

ISIS:

With the victorious emergence of the Islamic State and the establishment of the Islamic caliphate led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Shi'ites across the world were in a state of shock. The Shi'ites went into a total DISINFORMATION MODE. They claimed that ISIS was a "creation" of the United States. Then they went further and claimed that ISIS was created by Israel and that Abu Bakr Baghdadi was a Mossad agent. The only "evidence" provided for this BIG LIE technique was a claim that Snowden had said so in his secret papers and that in a photo al-Baghdadi was seen sitting with Senator McCain. Both claims were cleverly transmitted through a self-styled "global" web site. However close reading showed that Snowden had never mentioned the words ISIS and al-Baghdadi. These were interpolated by the Shias into their critique of ISIS.

The photo of McCain turned out to be a fake, photo shopped item.

The Shi'ite deception came to an end when America started bombing the Islamic State in Iraq and then the Islamic State in Syria.

Iran and Assad complained that America had not included them in the coalition bombing ISIS, They did not complain that such bombing of Muslims in Muslim lands is a violation of international law.

They did not complain that America is using its late model jet bombers which can hit targets from 50 miles away. In fact the Iranian leader Rouhani protested that bombing without troops on the ground may not be effective.

The Shias have mentally fallen so low that they did not understand Obama's tactic to use SUNNI rulers only. These Shias are BEGGING to be used by the Americans.

Imam Khomeini must be writhing in his grave. Hussain, r.a., would not accept a Muslim ruler, Yazeed, but these modern Shias see Bashar Assad and his Alawite and Shabiha gangs, who have killed 180,000 Muslims, tortured to death 11,000 children and raped tens of thousands of Muslim women, as a hero!

How can Imran Khan get rid of the "system" when he is part of it? asks Munir Khalili, Pakistani analyst.

There is much confusion in Pakistan owing to the ongoing sit-in by the followers of Imran Khan [IK] and Tahir ul-Qadri [TUQ] in Islamabad.

Munir Khalili's article on the "sit in" is a treat to read because it is sedate and well thought out. It is in Urdu, sophisticated and rational. For our English reading community, here are its main points. [We also give the link for those who can read Urdu.]

Munir Khalili begins by pointing out that Imran Khan's rhetoric has escalated from criticism of Prime Minister Nawaz [calling for his resignation] to claims of revolution and slogans about removal of the entire "system." Khalili explains what is the "system." It ranges from top government positions to the institutions on which the country depends for its day to day business.

He adds that the corruption in the system comes from the politicians themselves. To claim that politicians are not part of the system is preposterous. Imran Khan accuses the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif [rightly] but Imran Khan's party, in its internal elections itself has carried out rigging.

Khalili then dissects the Pakistani party system. These are cults and each leader is a cult leader. The leaders cannot be criticized and those who criticize have to leave. Imran Khan has shown in his speeches during so many weeks during the "sit in" that he is arrogant and getting harsher by the day. He is developing the leadership cult. The women and girls who have gathered around him look at him with adoration as if he is a film star.

The situation in other parties is not very different with cultist leaders. The democracy which they demand is not present within them,

The only exception is Jamaate Islami which has a track record of a constitutional process in which decision making is by way of discussion and the will of the members.

The leader of Jamaate Islami is an "ordinary" Pakistani, Sirajul Haq, person with no impressive wealth or feudal holdings, as was Munawar Hasan. Both are known for their piety and humility, not for arrogance and ego.

Imran Khan is attracting the rich and the corrupt elements in other parties. They smell more looting to come. Those multi-millionaires in PPP who looted the country and accumulated multi million dollars are salivating at the idea of joining Imran's party.

Jamaate Islami Leader Addresses Large Gathering in strategic area: Supports Taliban, criticizes Afghan-US Agreement.

LAHORE, Oct. 2: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the era of the Moghul kings was over and the peoples rule was about to begin.

 Jamaat e Islami Pakistan

Addressing a large public meeting at Landikotal on Thursday, he said that the JI had spotted the palaces of the plunderers in big cities and it would recover the public money and ill gotten wealth from them. The JI provincial chief Prof. Ibrahim Khan, General Secretary Shabbir Ahmed Khan, Sahibzada Haroonur Rashid and others also addressed. Referring to the Afghan situation, Sirajul Haq said that peaceful Afghanistan and a prosperous Pakistan were the need of the time. He said, We want Afghanistan to prosper, and we are friends of the Afghan people. He said if the JI came to power, Pakistan would be linked to Afghanistan by railway.

He lauded Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's invitation to the Taliban for talks, and said that the talks should also be held between the Afghan government , Eng. Gul Badin Hikmatyar and the Taliban.

Sirajul Haq however expressed reservations over the US-Afghan strategic pact and said it was not a good omen for Afghanistan or this country, adding that due to the presence of the US and NATO troops, Afghanistan would remain the center of intrigues. President Ashraf Ghani should have trusted in his Afghan people and announced in clear terms that his government did not need US/ NATO troops any more.

The JI chief blamed the federal government for the destruction in FATA and announced that the JI on coming to power, would undertake historic development activity in the tribal area. He however called upon the government to announce a special Rs. 100 billion development and relief package for the tribal areas.

Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan was achieved in the name of Islam but the pledge to enforce the Islamic system of life had not been fulfilled, although the Islamic system provided solution for all human problems. He said the corrupt and selfish rulers serving the interest of the British, kept the country away from the system laid down in the Quran ad the Sunnah, and this was the root cause of political and economic problems facing the country today.

Sirajul Haq said there was no dearth of resources in the country but the basic civic necessities including electricity, roads, health centers and schools were not available only due to the corruption of the mafias.

Islamic Leader Debunks Nigerian Army's Claims: Islamic Caliphate being Established.

Kano (Nigeria) (AFP) - Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau dismissed Nigerian military claims of his death in a new video obtained by AFP on Thursday and said the militants had implemented strict Islamic law in captured towns.

"Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath," Shekau said, adding that his group was "running our... Islamic caliphate" and administering strict sharia punishments.

Boko Haram has shown images of extreme violence before but the latest video shows at length graphic scenes of an amputation and a stoning to death as well as a beheading. It also purports to show the wreckage of a Nigerian Air Force jet that went missing in the northeast on September 11. Boko Haram said its fighters shot it down but the military denied the claim.

The military announced last week that Shekau was dead and that a man who had been posing as the group's leader in the videos had been killed after fighting with troops in the far northeast. Security analysts and the United States questioned the credibility of the military's claim.

The new 36-minute video shows Shekau, in combat fatigues and black rubber boots, standing on the back of a pick-up truck and firing an anti-aircraft gun into the air. Standing in front of three camouflaged vans and flanked by four heavily armed, masked fighters, he then speaks for 16 minutes in Arabic and the Hausa language widely spoken in northern Nigeria.

There was no indication of where or when the video was shot. Shekau appears in separate images from the violence. - Propaganda claims -

The heavily bearded Shekau, who appeared to be the same man as those in previous clips, said the military's claim that he was dead was propaganda.

"Nothing will kill me until my days are over... Some people asked you if Shekau has two souls. No, I have one soul, by Allah," he said, apparently reading from a script.

There have been two previous claims by Nigeria that Shekau had been killed or "may be dead" but Boko Haram later issued video denials.

Elsewhere in the new video, the militant leader said the group had implemented strict Islamic law in the towns that it had captured in the northeast in recent weeks.

"We are running our caliphate, our Islamic caliphate. We follow the Koran...in the land of Allah," he said. On the air force jet, Boko Haram fighters are seen apparently picking through the wreckage of the downed Alpha aircraft and the military's green and white logo is clearly visible.

PAKISTAN & KASHMIR

Pakistani Taliban declare allegiance to Islamic State and global jihad

Dera ISMAIL KHAN/ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - The Pakistani Taliban declared allegiance to Islamic State on Saturday and ordered militants across the region to help the Middle Eastern jihadist group in its campaign to set up a global Islamic caliphate.

Islamic State, which controls swathes of land in Syria and Iraq, has been making inroads into South Asia, which has traditionally been dominated by local Taliban insurgencies against both the Pakistan and Afghanistan governments. The announcement comes after a September move by al Qaeda chief, Ayman al-Zawahri, to name former Taliban commander Asim Umar as the "emir" of a new South Asia branch of the network that masterminded the 2001 attacks on the United States.

Although there is little evidence of a firm alliance yet between IS and al Qaeda-linked Taliban commanders, IS activists have been spotted recently in the Pakistani city of Peshawar distributing pamphlets praising the group.

IS flags have also been seen at street rallies in Indian-administered Kashmir. The trend has been of growing concern to global powers struggling to keep up with the fast-changing nature of the international Islamist insurgency. In a message marking the Muslim holy festival of Eid al-Adha, the Pakistani Taliban said they fully supported IS goals.

"Oh our brothers, we are proud of you in your victories. We are with you in your happiness and your sorrow," Taliban spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said in a statement sent to Reuters by email from an unknown location.

"In these troubled days, we call for your patience and stability, especially now that all your enemies are united against you. Please put all your rivalries behind you ... "All Muslims in the world have great expectations of you ... We are with you, we will provide you with Mujahideen (fighters) and with every possible support."

The statement, released in Urdu, Pashto and Arabic, was sent after Islamic State militants beheaded British aid worker Alan Henning in a video posted on Friday, triggering condemnation by the British and U.S. governments.

Attack Helicopter Shot Down By IS Rocket Launcher 3 Oct 2014

Fighters from the Islamic State extremist group have used a rocket launcher to shoot down an Iraqi military helicopter, say officials. The pilot and co-pilot of the Mi-35 aircraft were reportedly killed in the attack which happened between the towns of Beiji and al Senniyah in northern Iraq. The shooting down of the helicopter showed the insurgents' ability to hit back against air operations by Iraqi authorities and the US-led coalition...Beiji, which is 130 miles north of Baghdad, is home to Iraq's biggest oil refinery.

Guantánamo Force-Feeding Torture Videos to Be Released,

Posted by Lori Price, www.legitgov.org 3 Oct 2014

Today we learn that a federal judge has ruled that videos depicting detainees' force-feeding torture at the Guantánamo Bay prison must be released, tapes that the U.S. military and the U.S. Department of 'Justice' have been keeping secret. See, from the Guardian: Judge orders Guantánamo Bay force-feeding videos to be released 3 Oct 2014 A federal judge has ordered the disclosure of videotapes that show the force-feeding of an inmate at Guantánamo Bay. Days before the first legal challenge to the force feeding is expected to begin, Judge Gladys Kessler of the Washington DC district court on Friday ordered the government to prepare public versions of 28 videos showing a Syrian detainee prisoner, Abu Wa'el Dhiab, forcibly removed from his Guantánamo Bay cell and fed through a tube inserted through his nose into his stomach.

Isis video purportedly shows murder of British hostage Alan Henning 3 Oct 2014

Islamic State militants have published a video that is said to depict the murder of a British aid convoy volunteer Alan Henning three weeks after warning that he would be the next to die. If the video is found to be authentic, Henning will be the fourth western hostage to have been killed by the group, following the (alleged) video-taped beheadings of US journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, and Scottish aid worker David Haines. The latest crime comes after the UK launched air strikes against Isis, joining the US and its Arab allies - Jordan, [the biggest group of beheading sociopaths on God's green earth,] Saudi Arabia and the UAE - which had been targeting the group for several days.

ISIS Advancing on Baghdad: Three more towns Captured: International Airport not Far

On October 3, Islamic caliphate forces captured the town of Hit. On October 4, they captured Kobeisa and on October 5 Abu Ghraib.

Baghdad regime forces suffered heavy casualties and survivors ran for their lives.

With Abu Ghraib in Islamic hands, where once Muslims were humiliated by US troops, Baghdad's International Airport, 24 miles away, could soon come under fire. ISIS has captured 166mm howitzers USA gave to the Shias. They are effective from 20 miles.

Islamic Forces Enter Kobane but only in part: Ferocious US Bombing: Assad's Forces Assault Aleppo but beaten back.

October 5: Islamic State [IS] mujahideen entered Kobane, the strategically located town on the Turkish Syrian border. [CCN report]. However other sources say that parts of Kobane are still in the hands of the Communist Kurdish defenders known as YPG. They put up a stiff resistance and IS was slowed down by ferocious bombing by the US air force. Kurdish losses have been heavy but 30 IS fighters were killed in US bombing of Hakessah province nearby. Another 5 were killed when US bombing struck several IS vehicles advancing on Kobane. [Ongoing battle]

Turkey under pressure: The US is urging Turkish ac[tion against IS. Turkey is holding back but threatening to hit IS if it hurts any Turkish border guard. [New Trend comment: It will be a disaster for the Islamic cause if Erdogan does the bidding of the united States.]

The air assault by the US has helped the dictator Assad with significant reinforcements from Hizbullah. On October 4, Assad's forces advanced inti a part of Aleppo and captured a village which would outflank Aleppo's Islamic defenders. Al-Nusra other groupd counterattacked and too back the village. But Assad is bringing in more Shi'ite militias and Hizbullah to attack again.

In turn the mujahideen are advancing into Latakkia province again, the stronghold of the Alawites. On Octobrt 3 the Islamic forces repulsed Assad's counterattacks.

In the area around Damascus, the mujahideen are in control but under Assad's air attacks.

Assad's air force has dropped barrel bombs during the last three days, October 3, 4, 5 on areas under Islamiic control, killing 52 civilians, including women and children. An unidentified group attacked Alawite civilians in Homs killing 34 including 10 children.

OUR AMERICA

Our America: Looking at England
Blatant Attempt to Stop Humanitarian Aid to Islamic People in Syria Fails on Legal Grounds. Moazzam Begg freed: UK drops charges
by Sis. Karin Friedemann [Boston]

On Wednesday, October 2, 2014 Moazzam Begg was released from prison after all charges against him were dropped due to "insufficient evidence" that Begg's trips to Syria involved terrorism. Begg's lawyer, Gareth Peirce, who described her client as "a good man trying to the right thing in a very difficult world," told the Guardian that "he should never have been charged, as his activities did not amount to terrorism."

The former Guantanamo inmate had received a generous payout after suing the UK for wrongful imprisonment that enabled him to buy a house in England for his family. Begg became a tireless activist for prisoner rights and served as Outreach Director for CAGE. He was re-arrested in February by the Crown Prosecution Service the day before his report on Syria was scheduled to be released. He was being held without bail in prison, until his sudden release Wednesday.

Government prosecutor Christopher Hehir told the court, "The prosecution have recently become aware of relevant material, in the light of which, after careful and anxious consideration, the conclusion has been reached that there is no longer a realistic prospect of conviction in this case. The prosecution therefore offers no evidence." Mirza Begg, brother of Moazzam Begg said, "We are just so happy to have Moazzam home with us in time for Eid."

Andy Worthington wrote that "it was impossible to believe that Begg, one of the most scrutinized Muslims in the UK, would have engaged in any activities that could be construed as terrorism."

UK security services had already interviewed Begg before his last trip to Syria in April 2013. Knowing that he was doing research on the US torture rendition program under the Assad regime, they did not prevent him from traveling. However, his passport was taken away upon his return. It is remarkable that the British government has now admitted that they had no case against Begg and dropped the charges - especially compared to the common practice in the US of using prejudice to sway the jury to convict Muslim defendants in the absence of clear and convincing evidence.

Neither the Crown Prosecution Service nor the local police would say what "new material" had impacted the government's decision that the standard of proof had not been met. The local Muslim community and other supporters were extremely active in advocating for Begg and insisting on his innocence and his importance to human rights activism. It is probable that public pressure played a role in his release, especially at this time when the suspicion and demonization of British Muslims that have gone to Syria has increased in intensity.

Amandla Thomas-Johnson, spokesperson for CAGE expressed relief that the ordeal, which had largely paralyzed the prisoner advocacy organization, was over.

"Moazzam Begg and his family have suffered over the past 7 months not only because of his incarceration but also because of the financial sanctions imposed upon him, as a result of which his bank accounts (including joint accounts) were frozen or shut down. His wife was unable to pay her utility bills that were held in their joint names without receiving a license from the Treasury, and it became a criminal offense to even try and support his family with money and food during this period. Our thoughts are with his family and we share in the joy of receiving him home again."

"We call on the CPS to review all ongoing Syria-related terrorism trials to review the evidence and drop charges. We believe many of these trials and the campaigns against Muslim charities and individuals working in Syria are politically motivated fishing expeditions using the wide scope of terror laws and Prevent policy to criminalize Muslims. We also ask that the British state reviews its policies of harassment intimidation and politically motivated prosecutions of Muslims involved in the Syria crisis."

"Everything is terrorism and for those who fear losing their jobs and government funding, terrorism is everything. It is time to change the narrative," wrote Begg the month before his arrest.

Moazzam Begg's past articles can be found on the CAGE website. For example his interviews with British Muslims fighting in Syria and explanation of fighting groups: http://cageuk.org/article/syria-britain%E2%80%99s-new-war-teror and his Islamic explanation of Jihad. http://cageuk.org/article/jihad-and-terrorism-war-words

It remains to be seen whether Begg's written report on torture rendition involving Syrian prisons, confiscated by British police, will now be allowed to be published.

Our America: New York

America's Justice System and the Police
by Sis. Aisha [Jamaat al-Muslimeen New York City]

I was watching Community Cop, which is a program that comes on local free cable channel. The program is provided by 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care. They discussed how prosecutors fail to get indictments against police officers. I reveal that below.

Black Voter Dysfunction

The Prosecutor Donovan in Staten Island, who is "trying" the murder case of Eric Garner is already engaging in prosecutorial misconduct. Garner was murdered on 7/17/2014 by 7 to 8 police officers, which started with him being questioned. It has been a month of presenting information to a grand jury and, as of 9/29/2014, the grand jury is now charged with deciding on bringing indictments against ONLY one officer, not 7. The Black members of City Council, mosques, churches, etc. have not demanded that Prosecutor Donovan be removed.

Also, Rev. Charlatan (Sharpton) makes a far-fetched appeal for the federal government to set up a special prosecutor when that has NEVER happened! This is the way of weak leadership: make far-fetched demands that have no way of being accomplished! In other words, lip-service.

Governor Cuomo's or the New York State Attorney is supposed to remove the local prosecutor and replace them with a special prosecutor. Governor Cuomo, who has made every effort to get White Gay Rights implemented, was put into office by the Black Democrats. However, there is no mobilization that threatens the re-election of Gov. Cuomo. He is so haughty and confident of re-election that he has not participated in ANY political debates with his opponents!

A grand jury has to hear evidence and decide if the evidence presented is enough to bring an indictment and go to trial. That is the only goal according to 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement panel on their TV Show: Community Cop MNN, a local New York City show. Noel Leader and other members of the panel suggested that many juries fail to indict because the prosecutor purposely barrages them with too much information in an attempt to try the case. However, there is a difference between a grand jury and a trial jury, which is suppose to examine the evidence and determine guilt. The grand jury only decides whether there will be a trial in the first place. The fact that it has taken this prosecutor a month to present evidence to the grand jury is HIGHLY unusual! I smell a rat! It is not unusual for juries to vote not to indict. It does have to be a unanimous vote, either, making it easier for cops to walk away from a murder rap.

Thank Allah the people in Ferguson are still going strong. They sent houseboys, Uncle Jessie and Reverend Charlatan back from whence they came! The NFL drama was meant to distract America from what is going on in Missouri. Unfortunately, people are still being shot and killed and raped by Police all over this country.

President Obama's Uninvited Guest

Very interesting how a man armed with a knife was able to permeate White House grounds and even get into the Eastern Wing! Although the Obamas had left the White House this illegal entry was a message to him, in particular. The message is that he is vulnerable to attack and that his own security members will look the other way should anything occur. On April 14, 1865, Lincoln was assassinated at Ford Theater. John Wilkes Booth runs in the theater, shouting "Sic semper tyrannis" (thus always to tyrants), shoots Lincoln, and breaks his own leg after jumping off the balcony. In spite of a broken leg, Boothe managed to escape on horseback and avoid capture by the 240 servicemen surrounding Ford Theater "guarding" Pres. Lincoln. How was Boothe able to escape? ;-)

Many considered Pres. Lincoln's termination of slavery a tyrannical move and the ultimate betrayal to White Supremacy. He had to pay the ultimate price. The entire phrase is Sic semper evello mortem tyrannis meaning: "Thus always I eradicate tyrants' lives." It has become a Western world motto against tyranny.

It is reported that on an Atlanta trip, to Centers for Disease Control, an armed man was allowed to enter the same elevator as Pres. Obama. This man was a security contractor. In three separate incidents, Omar Gonzalez encountered secret service agents but, was let go. Gonzalez is a war veteran (former sniper) with post-traumatic stress disorder. Gonzalez was first referred to secret service because local police discovered his arsenal of weapons and a map of the White House. They let him go. On the second occasion, Gonzalez was carrying a hatchet around White House grounds but, told secret servicemen he was going camping. They let him go. He was seen by agents walking around the White House grounds but, in spite of previous encounters, no one reported him to security. This time he scaled the White House wall and got inside going as far as the East Wing! Security Director Julia Pierson is being "grilled" on Capitol Hill and her tone is being reported as "defensive" and "bureaucratic."

ANALYSIS & VIEWPOINT

My Enemy's Enemy Is Not My Friend
By Dr. Wilmer J. Leon, III

" A group of people (ISIS) who have committed their lives to martyrdom will never be deterred by threats of death, they will only be inspired."

"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it...Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On September 10th President Obama outlined his strategy for confronting the threat posed by the militant group "Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria" (ISIS). In the speech he said, "I have made it clear that we will hunt down terrorists who threaten our country...This is a core principle of my presidency: If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven." The following week the House of Representatives voted 319-108 and the Senate voted 78-22 to approve the measure authorizing the Obama Administration to arm "moderate" rebels in Syria in a fight against Syrian President al-Assad and ISIS.

It is important to recognize that President Obama's jingoistic rhetoric was stated primarily for domestic consumption. He has made some Americans feel that their Commander in Chief is taking charge of this situation but ISIS could really care less. A group of people (ISIS) who have committed their lives to martyrdom will never be deterred by threats of death, they will only be inspired.

ISIS is an offshoot of al-Qaeda. According to a paper by the Congressional Research Service Osama Bin-Laden believed that US military presence in the Arabian Peninsula is a direct affront to Islam. Based upon his success as a "logistical coordinator and financier for the Afghan and Arab resistance to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan" he was able to "...elicit psychological reactions and communicate complex political messages to a global audience..." spreading his ideological variation of a principle known as "defensive jihad." US ham-fisted interventions in the region serve to validate Bin-Laden's ideas and entice too many people to subscribe to al-Qaeda's ideology.

Again, you cannot defeat an ideology with an army but limited and strategic military action may be needed in order to disrupt the enemy and create the diplomatic environment and political space necessary for long-term solutions to take hold. A major problem is that American action and policy in the region are hypocritical and cannot be trusted.

The president condemns ISIS (and rightfully so) for beheading three journalists but says absolutely nothing about its largest ally in the region, Saudi Arabia, who according to the Washington Post, "In the space of two weeks last month, ... executed as many as 22 people. At least eight of those executed were beheaded..."

US policy in the region is not based on a clear understanding of historical, cultural, religious, and ethnic differences, concerns, and realities. It is based upon what Bush 43' called "American Internationalism", an arrogant belief that what is best for America is best for the world. It's about continuing imperialism. It's about carving up continents like pieces of meat, installing compliant dictators, violently removing them when they no longer serve a purpose and leaving the indigenous peoples with scraps and pottage.

It's not by accident that the US is engaged in battling fundamentalist Islam in Iran. At the request of British oil interests, the US orchestrated the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mosaddegh in Iran in 1953 and installed the Shah. The Shah's oppression created the climate for the the rise of fundamentalist cleric Ayatollah Khomeini. I submit that this was the beginning of many of the geopolitical problems facing America today and as Malcolm said, "The chickens are coming home to roost."

Failed policy in Iran led to the US backing Iraqi President Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) based upon the enemy of my enemy... Don't forget the now infamous photo of Donald Rumsfeld, then special envoy of President Ronald Reagan, shaking hands with Saddam in Baghdad on December 20, 1983.

The US trained the Mujahideen in Afghanistan in the 1980's as they battled the Soviet's in Central Asia. The policy was again based upon the logic, the enemy of my enemy...President Obama was correct when he said, "Over the last several years, we have consistently taken the fight to terrorists who threaten our country" but he failed to provide the historic analysis and context of why the US battled Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He failed to explain why now it is ISIS in Syria, Boko Haram in Nigeria and Al-Shabaab in Kenya. In this instance he looks and sounds a lot like bush 43' but with a slightly hipper gait, a warmer smile and an Al Green soundtrack.

FDR once said, "We shall strive for perfection...We may make mistakes—but they must never...result from faintness of heart or abandonment of moral principle." Today as the Obama administration and Congress do the complex political calculus they have failed to do the basic moral mathematics.

Dr. King said, "Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politic? Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But conscience asks the question - is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right."

Remember, this new group of "moderate" rebels who are anti-Syrian President al Assad are not necessarily pro US. Don't be surprised if like so many others before them they turn their US supplied guns back on us as alliances and interests in the region shift over time.
My enemy's enemy is not my friend.
