The Trump-Harris Electoral Contest:
How a Perfectly "Good" Zionist Female Candidate Was Upended

By Dr. Kaukab Siddique

For months leading up to the US election, corporate media gave maximum positive coverage to Harris. Usually such coverage hoists Israel's supporters to victory. What then happened to Harris? How did Trump get elected? We delve into America's cultural norms to understand the results.

Cultural Norm 1: Militarism

Symbolized by its aircraft carriers, bomber jets, and other munitions, the U.S. has a gargantuan and impressive military which inspires the awe of much of the world.

Cultural Norm 2: Imperialism

With this military might, the U.S. established its image as world power, particularly in its bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the destruction of German cities. Supplying Israel with bombs to kill Palestinians; direct US Air Force bombing of Iraq or Afghanistan; and supporting dictators in African countries (e.g. through frequent bombings of Somalia) is a natural outcome of imperial policies.

Cultural Norm 3: Support for Israel

With the Allied victory in World War II, the US had to locate a haven for Jews. It found that the best place was in Palestine, which, under the Ottomans at the time, had a weak Muslim government. The secularist governments around Palestine tried to stop the incursion of Jews to Palestine, but it didn't work. They were easily defeated by the Western countries, which had earlier defeated Germany.

Cultural Norm 4: Destruction of Indigenous Peoples and Cultures

The US was built on the destruction of indigenous peoples, whose leaders were then forced to work for the US.

Cultural Norm 5: White Supremacy

In conjunction with Cultural Norm 4, the US economic system was built on the backs of slave labor, and White Supremacy was—and is—the order of the day. Millenia of people brought from Africa as slaves and forced to work without pay, allowed for the amassing of American power and wealth. America revolves around racial identity, i.e. the question of whether one is Black or White.

Cultural Norm 6: Male Dominance

In American culture, the male is always dominant, with rare exceptions. A certain segment of the male population is imprisoned, usually on minor offenses. The prison population is largely Black, Brown, and in some states, indigenous people.

Very few males, Black or White, are punished for rape. In fact, it is very difficult to find any cases where the male was executed for rape. Domestic violence against women is rampant in the US, and goes largely unpunished. From the fashion industry to Hollywood to corporate America, men are in control of everything.

Conclusion

In every aspect of American life, whether in the political sphere, or in social sphere, it is the male who is dominant, and decides what should be done. A perfect illustration of this is the infamous attack by an American helicopter gunship on a group of Iraqi civilians, uncovered by Wikileaks, which reveals the pleasure American males take in killing subject people targeted for defeat.

Given the aforementioned American cultural norms, and particularly the cultural norm of male dominance, it is the natural outcome that Trump was elected. Even though the mass media have given full support to Harris, American cultural norms dictated that Trump would not be defeated.

Beautiful, Theoretical Khutbah Avoids Discussion of Genocide
By New Trend Staff

On November 8, the New Trend editor, still in a wheelchair, attended juma'ah at the Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB), Baltimore's largest monied mosque. The khateeb was Shaykh Ismet Akcin. Originally from Turkey, he attained a degree in Sharia at Egypt's famed Al-Azhar University. Akcin is a regular face on the ISNA-MAS speaking circuit, and famously appeared along with Imam Siraj Wahhaj at a large congregational prayer outside Baltimore City Hall in September 2023.

Akcin began with a discussion of "Good wishes versus bad wishes." Bad wishes, he said, can cause stress, destroy the family, and so forth. Your wishes describe your identity, they reveal who you are, and they are your lifestyle, he said. However, your wishes can destroy your deen, can destroy your akhirat (Hereafter).

So, what is the solution, the imam asked? It is to have only the wishes Allah wants.

The believer is the one who does good deeds, and is so busy doing good deeds that he doesn't even think about it. He enjoys doing good deeds, he continued. Make doing good deeds the reason for your life, the imam emphasized.

Next, the imam turned to theme of realization of desires. Man does not attain all of his heart's desires, he said. He gave a powerful analogy: Your life is a vessel. You are the captain of your ship. But you cannot control the direction of the wind. Many things may come your way which you have no control over. Accept them, as they are part of Allah's Plan.

Protect yourself from yourself, he admonished. The dunya and the akhirat both belong to Allah.

It was a beautiful khutbah, very organized and clearly expressed. The only regret was that the imam did not delineate any specific good deeds, in a time when mass slaughter of Palestinians and the occupation of Muslim lands continues unabated, and there is much work to be done. And historically the mimbar (pulpit of a mosque) is the place where all calls to political action, including those for social justice, have originated.

Towards the end of the khutbah, Shaykh Akcin almost made a "political" statement. It was: "We see the president of any given country. He behaves so well when he is first elected. Then, when it's a few years into his term, he behaves in an oppressive way." Why could the shaykh not connect the dots and say what Muslims ought to do in a time of genocide? Is he, and are other imams of large, monied mosques, somehow censored by US government agencies? And Allah-ho-alam.

Pakistan

Former Guantanamo Inmate Abdul Rahim Rabbani Dies, Suffered 20 Years of Guantanamo Torture and Solitary Confinement

On November 1, 2024, former Guantanamo inmate Abdul Rahim Rabbani died after a prolonged stomach ailment. As part of the "War on Terror," he was arrested on September 10, 2002 in Karachi by Pakistani security forces under then President Pervez Musharraf. Musharraf was paid $5,000 in bounty by the CIA for handing him over.

Rabbani was then sent to a Black site called "the salt pit" located near Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan for two years. There he was tortured by CIA agents. Afterwards, Rabbani was sent to Guantanamo. The Pentagon alleged without evidence that he operated an al-Qaida safe house.

Rabbani was held at Guantanamo for another 18 years without charge or trial, and endured further torture and abuse. In 2021, he was approved for release, but inexplicably remained imprisoned. Finally, in February 2023, he was released and flown to Pakistan in an arrangement mediated by his UK-based attorney Clive Stafford-Smith with the Pakistan government. (Stafford-Smith has recently taken on the case of political prisoner Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who was similarly rendered by Pakistan authorities and handed over to the US.)

Despite having endured horrific torture for almost two decades, he was not offered any sort of medical treatment, psychiatric treatment, or financial compensation by either the US or the Pakistani governments. He survived with the support of CAGE International, an organization which has long advocated for Guantanamo detainees, along with a few other organizations and private individuals.

In a detailed report published in Arab News, Rabbani's brother, Ahmed, who was detained and tortured along with him for twenty years, said that initially the brothers were relieved at being allowed to return to their native Pakistan. But, as occurs with many former Guantanamo detainees, the Pakistan government failed to give them identity cards. And without the cards, they could not access health care.

Ahmad said his brother fell seriously ill more than 20 times, attributing it to injections administered upon their arrival at Guantanamo and the extensive torture they endured. "He suffered such violence that his hand was broken, his leg was broken and his private parts were damaged, ruining his family life. When he passed away, we even faced difficulties in burying him because an ID card was required." (Arab News, November 2, 2024)

Rabbani was 57 when he passed away. Inna lilla hae wa inna alayhae rajeon.

Palestinian Medical Students Arrive in Pakistan

October 14, 2024 - Twenty-seven Palestinian medical and dental students arrived in Lahore from Cairo to study in Pakistan. According to Anadolu Agency, Al-Khidmat Foundation, a major Pakistani relief organization, partnered with the International Rafah University Islamabad to offer scholarships to about 190 students from Gaza. Most of Gaza's hospitals and universities are non-functional after being bombed by Israel. Many doctors and other medical staff have been arrested by the Israeli Occupation Force.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif welcomed the Palestinian students, saying they would be supported throughout the course of their medical studies in Pakistan. in a post on X, "Pakistan warmly welcomes Palestinian medical students for completion of their studies. Their presence further strengthens the bonds of solidarity between our peoples. We stand firmly with the people of Palestine in support of their inalienable rights to education, health, and a brighter future for all."

However, the statement is viewed with cynicism by Pakistani activists, many of whom have experienced harassment and even arrest by Pakistan authorities during pro-Palestine protests in major Pakistani cities.

United Kingdom
Pro-Palestine Jewish Activist Arrested

Professor Haim Bresheeth, a filmmaker, photographer, and film studies scholar was arrested by the Metropolitan Police under the Terrorism Act. He was at a weekly pro-Palestine protest sponsored by the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network and the Jewish Network for Palestine, outside the home of the Israeli Ambassador Tzipi Hotovely. The ambassador has attempted to justify Israel's bombardment of Gaza and mass killing of civilians.

At the rally, Professor Bresheeth condemned Israel for its colonialist, racism, and violence, including the mass murder of civilians. He further said that Israel had been unable to defeat Hamas, Hezbullah, and the Houthis, however many civilians it killed. And- he demanded the deportation of the Zionist ambassador. (Skwawkbox, November 3, 2024)

However, the UK government of Keir Starmer is a staunch ally of Britain, and invoked anti-terror law to arrest Bresheeth. It has similarly arrested (or threatened with arrest) numerous other British journalists engaged in independent reporting on Gaza, and harassed activists, invoking "anti-terror laws."

Yemen
Houthis Shoot Down $30 Million US Drone

November 7, 2024 - The Associated Press reported that Houthi rebels shot down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone in al-Jawf province. That's despite the US attack on their underground bunkers in October. The US military and the CIA have flown MQ-9s over Yemen for years. The Houthis shot down MQ-9s in 2017, 2019, 2023, 2024.

Each drone costs $30 million, and is manufactured by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. The loss of even a single drone signifies a substantial financial and strategic setback for the U.S. military operations in the region. (Eurasian Times, May 22, 2024) The U.S. military has declined to offer a total number of drones lost during that period.

The Netherlands
Israeli Soccer Fans Attack Property, Pro-Palestine Supporters and Homes, then Play Victim

In Amsterdam, the Israeli soccer team, called Maccabi Tel Aviv played against the Dutch team Ajax in the European League. Before and after the match, fans of the Israeli team marched through Amsterdam. They chanted anti-Arab slogans, including "Let the IDF win, and f--- the Arabs!" They also sang a song with the words, "There are no schools in Gaza because there are no children left." But it was not only sloganeering. They attacked homes which were displaying the Palestinian flags and attacked Palestinians and their supporters.

Amsterdam city Councilmember Jazie Veldhuyzen said Israeli fans instigated the violence after arriving in the city and attacked Palestinian supporters before the match. "They began attacking houses of people in Amsterdam with Palestinian flags, so that's actually where the violence started. As a reaction, Amsterdammers mobilised themselves and countered the attacks that started on Wednesday by the Maccabi hooligans." (Al-Jazeera, November 8)

In a further display of Zionist arrogance, some Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and one of the players refused to observe the minute of silence in mourning for the victims of the Valencia floods, called during the soccer match.

While the Israeli fans were rampaging through Amsterdam, the police did nothing. Then, locals, including about 100 taxi drivers, responded to the Zionist violence. About six people were injured, and 62 arrested in the resulting clashes.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said "The perpetrators will be tracked down and prosecuted." Separately, in a social media post, he said, "Completely unacceptable anti-Semitic attacks on Israelis." (Al-Jazeera, November 8)

Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema issued a similar statement, disavowing antisemitism and expressing concern for the Israelis. She also banned Palestine-solidarity protests in the city, ostensibly to prevent further violence. It was this ban which resulted in many of the arrests, as people insisted on marching.

Predictably, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamen Netanyahu described what had happened as a "very violent incident against Israeli citizens." In a statement issued by his office, he said he "views the horrifying incident with utmost gravity and demands that the Dutch government and security forces take vigorous and swift action against the rioters, and ensure the safety of our citizens." He also dispatched two military cargo planes to evacuate Israeli citizens. The Israeli government banned further travel by its citizens to the Netherlands. (Al-Jazeera, November 8)

In the meantime, nearly all corporate media issued very one-sided reports of the clashes, portraying what had happened as an antisemitic episode, and opining that Europe had proved once again to be a dangerous place for the long-suffering Jews.

Three Jews Targeted Jewish Board Members

By Sis. 'Aisha
Jamaat al-Muslimeen New York City

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez has charged Taylor Pelton, 28 years old, Samuel Seligson, 32 years old, and Gabriel Schubiner, 36 years old, with hate crimes. One woman and two men have been arrested so far. They, along with other individuals who have yet to be apprehended, used red paint to draw inverted triangles, which are associated with Hamas, on the homes of Brooklyn Museum board members with people with Jewish-sounding names.

They also painted words accusing the board members of having blood on their hands and committing war crimes.

The suspects are accused of being Pro-Palestinian protesters. This incident occurred on June 12, 2024, when Pro-Palestinian protests were going strong around New York City. Although they are themselves Jewish, Pelton, Seligman, and Schubiner are being charged with a hate crime because they singled these board members out based on their ethnicity.

The Brooklyn District Attorney's website details the arrest and the 25-count indictment against these three individuals. This same website referred to Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Guidance From Sis. Yasmin

Prophet (SAW)~*Sadaqah Due for Each Joint + 'Amr Bil Maroof and Nahi Anil Munkar'~[Bukhari & Muslim]

Abu Hurairah [Allah be pleased with him] who quoted
Prophet (SAW) as saying...

"A Charity is due for every joint in each
person every day that the sun comes up.
To act justly between two people is a charity;
To help a man with his mount,
lifting him onto it or hoisting up
his belongings onto it is a charity;
A good word is a charity;
and--
Removing a harmful thing from the
road is a charity."

Hadith #2 on 'Sadaqah'

Sayyiduna Abu Dhar (Radhi Allahu Anhu) narrates...

PROPHET (ﷺ)~ said...

Each morning for every person
a 'Sadaqah' is due for each joint
Every utterance of
'Subhan Allah'
(Glory be to Allah Who is above all faults)
is an act of 'Sadaqah'.

Every utterance of
'Alhamdulillah '
(Praise be to Allah)
is an act of 'Sadaqah'.

Every utterance of
'La ilaha Illallah'.
(None is worthy of worship but Allah)
is an act of 'Sadaqah'.

Every utterance of
'Allahu Akbar'
(Allah is the Greatest)
is an act of 'Sadaqah'.

Enjoining Good, is an act of 'Sadaqah'
Forbidding from Evil, is an act of 'Sadaqah'
'Amar Bil Maroof...Nahi Anil Munkar'
(Enjoining the right...Forbidding the wrong)

Commentary...
"Charity is due from every joint bone"
means that when a person gets up in the morning,
it is obligatory for him to thank Allah (SWT)for having every joint of his intact.
Therefore, one must praise and glorify Allah (SWT)
Since a single invocation of the
words mentioned in this 'Hadith' is equivalent to one 'Sadaqah',
one must say these words 360 times !
a number which equals the number of joints in man's body.
Plus to enjoin someone to do what is good and dissuade
somebody from vice constitutes 'Sadaqah' !
However, if one performs two 'Rak`ah' of 'Duha' prayer,
it will serve for 'Sadaqah' for all the joints of the body...!!!
We also learn from this 'Hadith' that 'Sadaqah'
is not restricted to spending money alone
but also has a vast meaning and covers all forms of virtues mentioned here !
{'Alhamdullilah'.}
