Dr Kaukab Siddique | Editor-in-Chief Ramadan 28,1427/October 22, 2006 #71

Final Ramadan Message: Dear readers: Asalamu alaikum. Eid is expected to be on October 24 or 25, depending on the visual sighting of the crescent as ordained in Hadith. Remember that Hadith is essential to Islam. Hence ISNA's fitnah of anti-Sunnah Eid is misleading and an attempt to foist "American Islam" of Bush on the Muslims of America. Inshallah the Fitnah of ISNA will fail. ISNA's satanic clique has been misleading Muslims for much too long.

As Imam Ali Siddiqui's factual and fundamental article notes below, all of the Eid al-Fitr activities are based on HADITH. New Trend has noted before, with help from Prof. Suleyman Kurter, that the campaign against Hadith, coming from the Intelligence Branch of Rand Corporation, is meant to strike at the roots of Islam.

Our struggle in America is to be true to the authentic Islam of Muhammad, pbuh, as enshrined in the Qur'an and as interpreted by Muhammad, pbuh, in the Hadith. I urge Muslims to follow Muhammad, pbuh, as understood by his Sahabah [Companions], and I urge Muslim women to follow the example of the greatest woman in the life of Muhammad, pbuh, his blessed wife 'Ayesha, r.a., and all the great women who struggled and sacrificed for Islam. Again, all this is in Hadith.

On Eid our political prisoners should be our first concern. We give below two important messages, one from Dr. Ali al-Timimi's Support group and the other from Imam Siddique Abdullah Hasan on death row in Ohio.

Finally, we have this special gift, an Eid message from Imam Jamil Abdullah al-Amin, who is also known as the Imam of America, writing from prison. Read it carefully and feel that surge of Qur'anic power in your soul.

Islam in America is very much alive although our best people are in taghoot's prisons.

Sincerely
Kaukab Siddique

Sis. Teresa's Case is genuine
[With thanks to Br. Aqeel.]

On October 20, Jamaat al-Muslimeen reps met Sis. Teresa Anne Latif in the town of Willow Grove, a northern suburb of Philadelphia. From the information and documents she gave us, it appears that her case is genuine. After she embraced Islam, she had the misfortune of marrying a "Muslim" who turned out to be a Qadiani ['Ahmedi']. Her documents indicate that he used her to obtain his Green Card and then dumped her in such miserable conditions that she has not had the resources to file for divorce.

Muslim-style clothing, like new, was donated to Sis. Teresa. She is a college-educated woman and is looking for a job. She has undergone tremendous pressure from her family [who are Christians] to give up Islam.

If you would like to help, send your donation in her name to Jamaat al-Muslimeen, P.O. Box10881, Baltimore, MD 21234..

Dr. Ali al-Timimi's Support Committee Urges Ummah help to renew case
http://freeAli.org/Right%20Now/Endorsements%20from%20Scholars/Endorsements%20from%20Scholars.html

"A few of you have asked if it is acceptable to donate with Zakat money as opposed to Sadaqa money. A few have also quoted some scholars or students of knowledge that have opined its permissibility.

As I continued to talk about Ali's case with the lawyers, I started to define the financial strategy that would provide consistent funding to save Ali. It was evident that a multi-year strategy was needed.
Just to recap, over the last 4 years Ali has engaged the services of about 6 law firms with abysmal outcomes… until recently that is, due to Allah's mercy.
I continue to meet with resistance from different individuals in implementing such long-term plans because it is far easier to just say "inshallah everything will work itself out" or "let's take small steps". These misconceptions are based on 2 issues:

1. Lack of understanding the essence of "trust and reliance" upon Allah. So this group does "tawaaakel" and not "tawwakel". Our strategy is based on prayer for the ideas + planning + advice + action + prayer for the successful outcomes.

There are too many examples to quote but the camel "tie and trust" story or Mariam's "tree shaking" story come to mind.

2. Being intimidated by large sums of money and as a consequence doing "things in the small". We should continue to remind ourselves that Ali's case is "United States v. Ali Al-Timimi" in US federal court and not "Zaid v Amr" / "Jack v Jill" in traffic court.

This "thinking in the small" has caused all fundraising to focus on the "current lawyer's bill". So the fundraisers actually rarely spend time to raise money.
And when they do, they always do it in a panic. The consequence is that we continue to engage the services of less than qualified resources.

These resources might be satisfactory for typical criminal proceedings but are insufficient for Ali's needs. Don't forget, Ali's case will probably be the defining case for the next few generations as related to Muslims scholars' free speech as well as American free speech. And that's why some of the best lawyers are working on Ali's case.
So, when we need to transition to a new team we don't have any money to pay for the demands for "transition services". That's what's happened with all the legal documents that we need.

Just like last time, if Ali was granted a retrial tomorrow we don't have a penny to spend on bail. So he would be transferred to prisons all over the U.S. just like when he first went to prison. He would not be able to prepare with his lawyers and might lose again.

So our financial approach is to ensure 3 items:

Continuity (of fund raising) + Durability (of the fund raising process) + Transparency (in the fundraising process)
But we couldn't think these "big" thoughts from Day 1. So let's first deeply thank our predecessors for doing the best that they knew how. And let's now empower each person to work on rescuing Ali. Let's go to each scholar, teacher, or individual and explain to them what's at stake: "freedom to talk about Islam without the fear of prosecution". It's not just about American scholars since the US government has enacted judicial treaties enabling the forced extradition of citizens of many nations.

So, when we say "rescue Ali, rescues yourselves" we mean that defending Ali now means that you are defending your local scholars.

So with this sense of urgency, I asked about the requirement of paying Zakat from Dr. Bilal Philips—Ali's high school teacher. He graciously asked one of Sh. Al-Albani's earlier students, Sh. Ali Khashshan who visited us here in DC in the 80's. Sh. Khashshan ruled that only Sadaqah and not Zakat was allowed to be contributed.

I talked about this with my parents and though we feel that defending Ali will soon become an issue of defending all scholars from malicious prosecution, we will abide by the advice of Dr. Bilal and Sh. Khashshan and will only ask you to contribute your Sadaqah wealth.

Each and everyone of you will make your own decisions. Dr. Bilal's web site is located at http://bilalphilips.com and we are thankful for his encouragement to restart the effort to rescue Ali. Once more he calls the people to Sunnah and its people. Actions that are appropriate for the prototypical Da'ee to the Sunnah in the West from whom we all learned the basics, directly from Dr. Bilal himself or indirectly via Ali.

And of course Allah knows what's in the heart.

The Significance of Eid
© Imam Ali Siddiqui

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF EID:
Unas (ra) reported that when the Prophet Muhammad (saw) migrated from Makkah to Madinah, the people of Madinah used to have two festivals. On those two days they had carnivals and festivity. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) asked the Ansaar (the Muslims of Madinah) about it. They replied that before Islam they used to have carnivals on those two joyous days. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) told them: 'Instead of those two days, Allah has appointed two other days which are better, the days of Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha.' (Hadith)

EID-AL-FITR is celebrated on the first day of Shaw'waal, at the completion of Ramadan. Shaw'waal is the 10th month of the Islamic calendar. The Eid-al-Fitr is a very joyous day; it is a true Thanksgiving Day for the believing men and women. On this day Muslims show their real joy for the health, strength and the opportunities of life, which Allah has given to them to fulfill their obligation of fasting and other good deeds during the blessed month of Ramadan.

THE SUNNAH OF EID:

1. Wake up early.
2. Offer Salat-al Fajr.
3. Prepare for personal cleanliness take care of details of clothing, etc.
4. Take a Ghusl (bath) after Fajr.
5. Brush your teeth.
6. Dress up, putting on your best clothes, whether new or clean old ones.
7. Use perfume (men only).
8. Have breakfast on Eid-al-Fitr before leaving for prayer ground. On Eid-al-Adha, eat breakfast after Salat or after sacrifice if you are doing a sacrifice.
9. Pay Zakat-al-Fitr before Salat-al-Eid (on Eid-al-Fitr).
10. Go to prayer ground early.
11. Offer Salat-al-Eid in congregation in an open place except when whether is not permitting like rain, snow, etc.
12. Use two separate routes to and from the prayer ground.
13. Recite the following Takbir on the way to Salat and until the beginning of Salat-al-Eid.

Allaho-Akber, Allaho-Akber. La ila-ha ill-lal-lah. Allaho-Akber, Allaho-Akber. Wa-lilahill hamd.

(Allah is greatest. Allah is greatest. There is no god but Allah. Allah is greatest. Allah is greatest. And all praises are for Allah).

HOW TO OFFER SALAAT-AL-EID:

Ibn Abbas (ra) reported: 'I participated in the Salat-al-Eid-al-Fitr with the Messenger of Allah (saw), Abu Bakr (ra), Umar (ra) and Uthman (ra), and all of them held Salat-al-Eid before Khutbah, and then the Prophet Muhammad (saw) delivered the Khutbah (sermon)'. Hadith, Muslim

WHO SHOULD GO TO THE PRAYER GROUND AND OFFER SALAAM-AL-EID:
Umm Atria (ra) reported: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) commanded us to bring out on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, young women, Hijab-observing adult women and the menstruating women. The menstruating women stayed out of actual salaat, but participated in good deeds and Dual (supplication)'. I (Umm Atria) said to the Holy Prophet (saw): 'O! Messenger of Allah, one of us does not have an outer garment.' He replied: "Let her sister cover her with her garment." Hadith Muslim.

On the Eid day, every believing man, woman and child must go to the prayer ground and participate in this joyous occasion.

STRUCTURE OF EID PRAYERS:

Eid prayer is wajib (strongly recommended, just short of obligatory). It consists of two Rakat (units) with six or thirteen additional Takhbirs. It must be offered in congregation. The Eid is followed by the Khutbah. The Khutbah is part of the worship and listening to it is Sunnah. During the Khutbah, the Imam must remind the community about its responsibilities and obligations towards Allah, fellow Muslims and the fellow human beings. The Imam must encourage the Muslims to do good and ward off evil. The Muslim community must also be directed to the state of the community and the Ummah at large and the feelings of sacrifice and struggle for Allah should be aroused in the community.

At the conclusion of the salaat, the Muslims should convey greetings to each other; give reasonable gifts to the youngsters; and visit each other at their homes. Muslims should also take this opportunity to invite their non-Muslims neighbors, co-workers, classmates and business acquaintances to Eid festivities to expose them to Islam and Muslim culture.

Imam Jamil Al-Amin: Liberating the Soul

Wisdom from within prison walls

From: Allah's Slave
Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin

I begin in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. I bear witness that there is only One God, Worthy of All Praise and Worship, and He is Allah. I pray that Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon the Prophet of Allah, Muhammad son of Abdullah, and peace be unto his family and those who follow him. I seek Allah's Protection from Satan the Rejected. I ask Allah to guide my heart and my tongue. I seek Allah's Protection from misleading and from being mislead, from betraying and being betrayed into ignorance by others.

As-Salamu Alaykum,
O You who Believe:

Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala (the Exalted and Glorified), has revealed: "If there were, in the Heavens and the Earth, other gods besides Allah, there would have been confusion in both! But glory to Allah, The Lord of The Throne; (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! He cannot be questioned for His doings, but they will be questioned (for theirs). Or have they taken for worship (other) gods besides Him? Say, ˜Bring your convincing proof: this is the Message of those with me and the Message of those before me. But most of them know not the Truth, and they turn away (Qur'an 21:22-24).

Belief (faith) is as much an integral part of the human makeup as the intellect (mind) and physique (body); it is the bridge between action and non-action, resistance and passivity, struggle and acquiescence: the difference among mankind is the quality of belief as it is assessed by his Creator. Belief, in any lesser or more quantity may assume any given value or set of values. Values based upon the incorrect belief (disbelief) are incapable of producing the moral incentives to bring about human ascension, which is necessary for a true revolutionary progression. Yet, every offspring of Adam, alaihi salaam, is coded before being brought into this life with belief DNA:

"And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam" from their loins"their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], ˜Am I not your Lord?" They said, ˜Yes, we have testified. [This]"lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection, 'Indeed, we were of this unaware.' [lest] you say, ˜It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before , and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers havedone? "And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return" (7:172-174).

The Atheist belief is that he does not believe: disbelief is still belief. Western Philosophical Materialism by definition is Atheistic. A philosopher is one who kicks up dust and then complains that he cannot see. Greco-Roman philosophy and sciences evolve from a math that is predicated without the concept of zero. Any science of discipline (be it philosophy or math) without the concept of zero as a fundamental building block in its inception is consigned to error.

Without the understanding of zero, there can be no concept of ad-infinitum (infinity). It can only deal with beginning and ending, Alpha to Omega, no insight (belief) in that without beginning and without end (True Divinity).

This is why manmade -isms are unmindful of the "fear" of the day, "When the female (infant) buried alive shall be asked, for what sin was she killed?" (81: 8-9). Their religion (belief system) may make dollars, but it doesn't make sense. These isms (ideas) will be unsuccessful, in bringing about the true evolution of man (revolution), as disbelief has always been. O you who Believe: You are the best of people, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah" (3:110).

Islam is a consciousness of the Will and Plan of Allah (swt) and a joyful submission to that Will and Plan. True commitment demands consistency. This is firmness of purpose. Allah (swt) says, "We have created man in the embrace of hardship (90:4). He (swt) has created man for toil and struggle," and conscious struggle is an inescapable part of reality.

Truth and falsehood will always be in conflict, and truth must always win in the end, for it is as Allah (swt) Wills. Allah (swt) has willed His Truth to triumph through those who believe in Him.

Truth is a trust, falsehood is a treason. Every claim must and will be tested; faith is a claim. Our faith is a bedrock of conscious struggle and must be tested. Reality cannot be learned by the intellect alone; it must be comprehended by the total personality, by the imagination as well as the mind, a human revolution. To be healthy, our life must be molded and shaped by a High Moral System, which can have no basis except that which is Favored by our Creator.

The Prophet, salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings be upon him) said, of the things that will make you successful there are two, taqwallah wa husnul khuluq (God-Consciousness and Good Behavior). Likewise, Allah (swt) says, He "will not change the condition of people until they change what is in themselves" (13:11). Only Allah (swt) rekindles the spirits so that they burst forth like springs, so that nations may be built around them. Islam is the way through which those who are spiritual exiles define themselves in terms of themselves and not of someone else.

The Prophet (saws) said, "Whoever imitates a people is but one of them" (Recorded by Abu Dawud, and judged to be authentic by al-Albani). Without the ability to define, language itself enslaves; the principles upon which man's oppression of man have been constructed form part of the architecture of the oppressed prison. There is a sedition by syntax where the language structure and meanings of the words are changed for deceptive and treasonous purposes"designed to keep you self-hating/celebrating with Satan.

There is no such thing as a Neutral Educational Process; being oppressed is a conscious experience and Allah (swt) says, "Tyranny and oppression [are] worse than slaughter"? (2:191,217). Cultural dependence brings with it economic and political dependence (slavery). Racism systematically verifies itself anytime a slave can only become free by imitating his master - double vision seen only through one eye. Defeat goes deeper into the human soul than victory; the highest joy teaches us less than the smallest sorrow.

Slaves are trained and freedom for the slave is never "free."? The state cannot give freedom, and the state cannot take it away. Freedom from man's oppression is a gift from Allah (swt); you are born with this and then one day someone tries to deny it. Yet, the extent to which you Resist is the extent to which you are Free. Mis-education is a strong link on Slavery's chain. When amendment repair, Your constitution means despair, Impact, Impale, Impaired.

Despite admonishments sharper than swords and arrows, slaves perish in an ocean of ignorance, heedlessness, deeply ingrained passions and desires. Allah (swt) warns, "Have you seen the one who takes as his own god his own desires?" (25:43, 45:23). And for the wounds of the dead, treatment is of no use.

They are slaughtered by ideologies (the science of ideas, isms). The ignorant listen and in their deafness accuse Allah (swt) of being silent; they look and in their blindness they think that Allah (swt) does not see. Theirs is the sleep that only chases dreams.

In the heart there is an emptiness and a need which nothing can satisfy except for the remembrance of Allah (swt). The only proof of faith is in struggle, struggling in word and deed, in body and soul. The lack of faith will crush you far more than defeat ever could. "And what will explain to you the path that is steep?" (90:12). Conscious struggle is the path that is steep. Struggle where bitter hardship and misfortune and difficulty becomes sweet tasting to the soul. "It is He who sent His Messenger with the guidance and the religion of Truth, that it may prevail over all other religions, even if the Disbelievers may hate it." (9:33).

And Allah (swt) said: "Allah has promised to those among you who truly have true Faith and Belief and act in obedience to Allah and His Messenger, that He will grant them authority upon the earth, just as He granted it to those before them, and that He will establish their religion for them and grant them the authority to practice their religion which He chose and ordered them with. And He will certainly change their condition to one of security, after their fear. Providing that they worship and obey Allah, not associating anything else in worship with Allah. Then, whoever rejects this Favor by disobedience to their Lord - then they are the rebellious transgressors"? (24:55).

The religion of Islam is a complete religion (way of life) comprised of both belief and laws. It commands worship of Allah (swt) alone and prohibits associating partners with Allah (swt) in that which is particular to Him. It commands truthfulness and prohibits falsehood. It commands justice and forbids injustice and oppression. It commands fulfilling trust and prohibits acting treacherously. It commands keeping promises and forbids breaking them. It commands kindness and good treatment of parents and prohibits disobedience to them in lawful matters. It commands the joining of ties in relations and prohibits the breaking of family ties. It commands the good treatment of neighbors and prohibits causing harm to them. Islam orders all that is good, in manners and morals, and prohibits all that is evil from it. It orders all actions which are righteous and good as determined by Allah (swt) and forbids all actions that are evil and harmful as determined by Allah (swt), The Most High.

O Allah, we seek refuge with You from opposing Your Command and being a party to Your Prohibitions. O Allah, give us the wisdom to see that we must accept to work with all who say, La ilaha il Allah, Muhammad ar-Rasulallah (There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is His Last Messenger). O Allah, give us the desire for community life, that we define ourselves as you have defined us (Allah has not authorized the Muslim to put anything before the word Muslim in defining himself: not Sunni, not Shi'ah, not American, not Black; no divisive pre-fixes; just Muslim):

"And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. He [i.e. Allah] named you ˜Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give charity and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper" (22:78).

O Allah, give us the wisdom to make Islam relevant to all those we come in contact with it. O Allah, increase our love for what has come to us from our Prophet (saws) by way of the Qur'an and his sunnah (sayings and actions), and put love and confidence, trust and faith into our hearts, faith and hope into our worship and never let us despair of Your Mercy. O Allah, grant victory to Islam and the Muslims.

And know, O Muslim, if I have said anything that was wrong, this was from myself, and anything that I may have said that will be of benefit to you, it is All Praise that is due to Allah (swt)!

Wa Salam,
Allah's slave

In Peace Strong!
In Battle Strongest!!!
